P-51d Mustang REPLICA

Recommended Posts

I got to work with some vintage P-51Ds from WW2 during the middle of the summer and that look almost EXACTLY like the one I worked with, the only thing wrong is the color but that can't really be helped can it?

It can :) what colour scheme did you have in mind?

If you could post a picture or tell me trough a private message i can apply it to the plane and upload a few pictures!

Unfortunately I do not have any photos from it ;.; , but the color scheme I was thinking is the metallic silver.

Such as.

and the person the red arrow is pointing to might be me

metallic silver is probably a no go i'm afraid :( kerbpaint only supports matte colours at this moment so there isnt much i can do :/ Perhaps if i tone down the white a bit to make it look more metallic-ish, but it still wont be anywhere near the real deal. Cool picture though, i have great respect for ww2 pilots, no matter which side. There was just so much honor and respect when fighting back then, nowadays you fire at what your commanding officer tells you to fire at without a second thought, one push of a button is all it takes...

Agreed I also have great respect for those who fought to give us what we have today. It's alright with the color, I kinda figured that the coloring wouldn't work

Also i must say, the activity and feedback on this thread is far bigger and better than that of my bf-109 thread, perhaps i didn't make it good enough? might have to go back to the drawing bord on that one! I really appreciate all the feedback i've been getting on this, keeps me motivated and makes me want to build bigger and better! thanks! (would also appreciate criticism as i like to learn from my mistakes). Going to keep working on this one though, might make the cockpit a bit longer in lenght as i've noticed it's not really to scale, could be a challenge though as i want to keep the cockpit view as unobstructed as possible :)

What can I say? People love the good old P-51 :) Keep up the good work!

You need to remake this ;-;

Oh my, i still have the craft file for it (albeit a newer one than the one in the thread, made the fuselage slightly longer) but i really can't be arsed to remake this right now, might release the craft file and have someone else do it if they want to.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
