Trying To Find The Armstrong Memorial

Recommended Posts

Hey there. I sent a rover to the Mun to try and find the Armstrong Memorial. Thing is, I think I landed in the wrong crater. I am currently in the southwest crater (there is a Mun biome map on the wiki), and I'm not great with coordinates. If someone could tell me where to drive and how far I have to drive, that would be great. Thanks! :)

...do you mean to tell me I haven't got ONE decent daylight image of where the Memorial is? Sheesh.

Well, there's the coordinates for you at least (the "Bullseye" flag is literally on the Memorial; Jeb flew up and put it there).

Look it up on kerbalmaps.com and you should be able to find the spot okay.

The Memorial is at the same coordinates as the real landing site on the Moon.

Almost, but not exact. Apollo 11 - Mare Tranquillitatis Lunar Landing Time 4:17:40 p.m. EDT, July 20, 1969. Landing Site Coordinates 0.67408° N latitude, 23.47297° E longitude (copy/paste Wiki)

KSP Neil monument: 0.7027 : 22.7470 according to Kerbalmaps.com

It's close... but I always wondered why it isn't exact.
