MANN landing

Recommended Posts

the challenge is, make a craft that can go as high as possible and land in one piece WITHOUT using parachutes, RCS, gliding or retrorockets

Impossible you say?

perfectly safe landing

yes, i do admit i had to do seperate flights, landing on the launch pad or the ramp WILL affect desired results

you can use any part so long as it is not modified/nerfed by yourself

Wouldn\'t this allow planes? Heck, my Skybax can reach a kerbal escape trajectory, turn around, and glide back to an unpowered landing. Does that count?

I guess its a perfectly fine agument, my Satellite Launcher Shuttle goes to orbit, deploys the satellite and go back to earth using only one extra booster to compensate the satellite weight (without the satellite it can go to escape velocity).

We really need re-entry heat. Any plane can simply re-enter the atmosphere at around 10km/s and still come about to around 150m/s when you are at landing altitude.

Basically I think OP wants a \'manly\' rocket that..

Thrusts like a Saturn V

Goes ballistic like a Soyuz emergency re-entry.

8G re-entry ftw lol.

Anyway in game terms, vehicle must survive a free-fall landing, that\'s all.

just land safely in free-fall, yes
