Scooter Trash reporting for duty

I've been playing in career mode for a couple weeks and find this game fascinating. I've successfully landed and returned from Minimums and am currently rescuing a stranded Kerbal on Mun. Landed 10k away from him so he's hoofing it to the rescue ship for a refill of jetpack fuel. Here's a tip - if you need to force march a Kerbal a 20mm dummy round, propped up with some desktop junk, holds the W key down great!

Looking forward to learning all about building space stations and the like. It came as quite a revelation that I could stack fuel tanks lol. I was having trouble doing much more than get into orbit until i watched a single Scott Manley vid

There's a better, sillier way to move Kerbals long distances. Jump, turn on the RCS pack and build up some speed, and then let him (gently) hit the surface. He will bounce, flip, flop, and slide for quite a long distance, moving faster than a walk without using much RCS fuel. With the added bonus that it's fun to watch. :)

(Save before and during pauses, in case he takes a bad bounce and goes poof.)

Take note that I'm hoofing him over for a refill of jetpack fuel. I didn't know how to use them and didn't realize they ran out. He couldn't get back in the lander ;-)

Of course my rescue ship was built wrong so he couldn't jump up high enough to get in, lololololol. Live and learn.

Welcome!

Also ladders are your best friend....even the nonlowering ones. Also another bit of first hand experience; do not put a light right above the hatch.... it causes all sorts of headaches.

LOL, same goes for solar panels and goo containers. That's actually the real problem. Poor guy can jump high enough but there's too much gunk in the way. I think I've killed a dozen guys just trying to rescue him. I'm obsessed with getting him!
