I suggest creating a tool to plot target points on planets or other astral bodies. This will allow for more accurate landing sights. And also maybe mapping science tools to find biomes and other surface information.

Take a look at the Mapsat and SCANsat mods. They do pretty much exactly this.

Though yes, it would be nice to see something like this in stock.
