Using certain mods = cheating ?

Hello everybody,

i'm new to KSP (25 hours in, still busy with Mun and Minmus) and of course i try to gather some knowledge

in forums and on youTube - and here's what bugs me a little bit.

There are mods that change a few things around (like tech tree changes for what i've heard) or give you

some helpful information so you don't need to calculate yourself (i think Kerbal Engineer fits in this description).

But then there are also mods that take way too much control from the player.

To my understanding MechJeb is more or less cheating.

I haven't installed any mod yet, but when i read that people let mods handle their launches, dockings or landings,

then i really wonder how much there is to them being responsible for the mission success.

Isn't that like using an aimbot in an FPS ?

Of course, KSP is no versus game, so impact on others is non existant, but still it doesn't feel right to me using them.

Or do i have a completely wrong understanding of what does mods do ?

KSP is a sandbox game, and has been developed to allow and support mods of all types because of this, their is no cheating, as by installing a mod you are allowing it to become part of your universe.

I have closed this thread because this is one of those topics that always end up baiting trolls.
