  1. Only 2 words: Scott Manley. Watch his videos and all your questions will be answered.
  2. Indie games on Steam are usually around 20-30€. Seeing a 40€ pricetag on an indie game raises the expectations. Looking at screenshots and videos (low LOD settings, obvious repetitive textures, "dead" planets) 40€ seem a bit much to ask. Especially with games like Elite Dangerous around (50€). I think everybody here loves KSP and has no problem with it's price, but i'm with the TO here: The entrance barrier could be a little too high.
  3. Well, you need to seperate 2 very big chunks of people: a) The ones who already sank over 500 hours in the game and have been to all places already Those with <100 hours of gameplay still dreaming of a successful Duna mission (That engineer mod showing you dV and TWR of stages should of course be in the vanilla version) The "newcomers" to KSP are absolutely in no need of mods. The "elders" surely should look out for mods to increase the gameplay experience.
  4. So many excuses for bad planning. I'm not bashing on Squad/KSP, just stating the obvious. Millions of workers/departments/companies around the world meet deadlines with no problems and still manage to deliver high quality products. The gaming industry was like that too before patching became a viable option and publishers forced development studios into impossible release schedules and consumers accepted downloading 20 Gb on patches and basically unfinished products until 12 months after "release". Sure, things can go wrong, but this is also the case for all other businesses.
  5. 100% Vanilla. Waiting for Squad to patch all the usefull information tools in, tho. But as with every game - once you surpassed a certain limit, mods become a neccesity.
  6. 1. Although in theory 2, but i never use the sandbox one
  7. Career mode and hopefully not failing too badly
  8. Looking at games like Payday 2 that are now on patchlevel 60 or something, i can't agree on that KSP is one of those games that professional reviewers have a problem with because they have no chance ever discovering what the game is about. They need to put hours over hours in to just get to Mün. Usually professional reviewers stay the hell away from such games. It's not like there aren't thousands other games to review.
  9. I don't know ... For one i love grinding and having to overcome limitations, but then i also hate being restricted when i have something specific in my mind. Me being someone who hasn't yet sucessfully landed and returned from Duna there's lots of rewarding things to be done in sandbox mode. Career and Science mode just limits you in the beginning, it doesn't change the challenges of the game.
  10. aab But basically, i'll do like Scott told me to do it
  11. Rule #1 on youTube: don't pick a name with lots of "x"s or "0"s or "1"s in your name
  12. Hmmm, after reading that "biggest youTuber playing KSP = Markiplier" i'm rather astonished PewDiePie hasn't played it. Will check out Bob Fitch, never heard of him.
  13. Scott Manley has 370.000 subscribers and 77.535.000 views. In my books he has the best videos for learning KSP and enough science stuff to even learn something about physics Danny is far off with less than 120.000 subs. I also enjoyed HOCGaming's videos and you can still watch them if you haven't heard of him yet, but he stopped making KSP videos.
  14. Me being still rather new to the game (70 hours) it isn't even worth playing less than an hour, as this might be just enough to design a rocket and maybe get it to one of Kerbin's moons. So it's about 1-3 hours in most cases.
