Make A Planet!

The older thread seems to have vanished, but let's do it!

You are to make a planet that flourishes. You may give it moons, rings, life, etc.

Begin : There is a planet with twenty gilly-sized moons orbiting it.

As of 1-5-13

FROM NOW ON

Do not create colonies of species that did not originate from this planet. Do not have huge wars between native species that destroy our planet. You can use natural disasters to destroy up to a 1km radius. Volcanic eruptions ARE allowed to lower global temperatures by up to 5 degrees. We are using CENTIGRADE.

As of 1/18/13

FROM NOW ON

No native species are to communicate with non-native species. No non-native species are to enter the solar system.

It was unknown that the temperature scale was Celsius (sorry).

Constant lightning strikes due to static electricity in the atmosphere caused by the rings.Creating single celled organisms from the amino acids.

Wow,I spent far too long typing that.

A planet one third the planets mass slams into it, miraculously, mountain ranges are just right so that they act as shields, most are blown to bits but not before taking most of the force and extreme heat, so the damage is limited to a huge crater. Mountain ranges created by the impact block most of the dust and don't let it get far, the crater cools quickly and maintains a slight peak in the middle.

(Did I get a bit violent?)

There was only 1 moon.

~1.6g?

Due to being synchronous the *second moon impacts the first creating a larger moon with a surface gravity of ~0.5g

I'm going to track masses and things which happened like two of the three original moons being destroyed in Univers Sandbox(not the most detailed.

A distant world in the same system gains sufficent mass and start gobbling up most of the bodies with surface gravities of 0.3 or smaller, capturing some in the process.

A volcanic explosion on the world(our world, not the massive one) begins belching ash, CO, CO2, SO, NO.

The ash causes world temperatures to plumet by 3° globally a month, and remains for 1 year.

The CO2 thickens the atmosphere.

The CO kills any life that requires oxygen or CO2 to produce energy.(Bacteria, plants, animals, etc...)

The SO and NO combine with remanant water vapor and form HNO3 and H2SO4, which rains down on the world for a few months, eating away at rock formations.

New bacteria that required neither evolve over a few hundred thousand years to use CO in chemosynthysis, producing elemental carbon 13 as a by-product.

Let's say we've got 1.29 gs right now.

A volcanic eruption in highlands about 9 kilometers north of the shield lowers the global tempertures by 1 degree. Intelligent life able to withstand the 4 local degree drop in a radius of .5 km from the eruption, and the CO2 situation worship the fire and ash from it.
