How long does your install last?

It lasts an indefinite amount of time for me. Although it probably kills my laptop, I copied KSP to a separate folder, then installed mods there. So I have a mod version and a stock version!

I don't even start KSP up before KER, FAR, KAC and Docking Alignment Indicator are updated/working. Those mods have become an essential part of the game for me and I would not enjoy playing KSP without them. There are a lot of other mods (Precise Node, Enhanced Navball, Kethane, KAS, Clouds and City Lights, KW, B9, RSS, IVA views... that I enjoy a lot. I can go a while without them if necessary though.

From the moment of launch to the moment of update! I only play vanilla, once tried mechjeb and didn't really like it, then it broke my install, so I've always gone vanilla. If I ever do mod, I have a backup folder just in case. The only non standard thing in my game is that I got the mod to give the Mk2 cockpit an IVA, that's it.

Once I determine that an update is working properly (to my knowledge, that is), I install KER and the parts I've made so far (fueled parts). That means within 15 minutes or so. Then I install MechJeb.

Yup, installation of my comfort mods and "used to have" part mods is basically instant, although I usually wait a bit/check the forums for compatibility issues before doing my own experiments.

Usually, I just add plugins, I am not a fan of part mods, and normally they are huge and causes some problems with finding parts, but obviously, I use some of the awesome part packs, like the Soviet Pack,FASA...

And usually, I play the stock game for a real long time, then I mod it a bit, like, adding FAR,Kerbal Alarm Clock,KAS(part!),Docking Port Alignment Indicator,CustomBiomes,etc.

Usually, it takes me a few months to use any mods. Even then, I usually only use things like KMP or Alternis Kerbol.
