Thanks for all of the support so far! :D

We are on a small ball of star material, orbiting around a massive ball of star material that gives us both life and death if we're not careful. We're on a ball of materials in the void of true absence. We choose to exit the friendly presence of our fellow kind, and we choose to exit the unfriendly presence of our fellow kind. While there was a standoff between two of the most powerful countries in the world, we shook hands with the enemy in space, while someone was spying on someone else from the same countries at the exact same time. We have to pursue this dream, and do the Kerbals. Rise to greater heights until the measurement is hard to pronounce. Travel greater distances until you've not an idea of your location. Leave the grasp of Kerbin, leave the grasp of Earth, and set off for a voyage into the Void of Space and Time, where if you want supplies for the entire trip, bring them when you launch, and say goodbye to your home planet as it sinks away into the distance. But for now, we need to pursue our current goals, and this is what Naten Innovations is here for. Per Kerbin, Ad Astra. -Naten

AboutNaten Innovations Redux will focus more on general rocketry, and utilities for your spacecraft. An art pass will also be part of it, but for now, I've started with one engine. It may not seem like much to the average Kerbal, but I put in a lot of effort into that one little engine, including tweaking the attach nodes (that took a bit longer than expected to tweak), fixing up the emissive texture that I made, and configuring the engine to optimal balance, power and performance without making it any more balanced than Squad's ol' LV-T30 engine. I've discovered new techniques, and now I can make control surfaces, canards, wings, SABRE-style hybrid engines, gimbal vectoring, science experiments, and much, much more; so your best bet is to stay tuned and wait for what's ahead. :)

Update Notes

I'm happy to say that Update 1.2.01 is now released into the public. I've added fuel tanks; something I've almost never done even though it's one of the easiest things to make in my opinion... I'm just glad it's all over with... :)

Update 1.0.0 has truly been the best update for this pack, in my opinion, that is. I've made a nice-looking engine, a nice-looking model, a bit of glow to make the engine seem to get hot, and a lot of CFG tweaks here and there. I've also put a "Special Thanks" and regular "Thanks" section in the Readme for the people who helped me or inspired me with their work along the way, just to show that I care. Please drop by to the Readme .txt file that is included in the AddOn's Zip file. Thanks to everyone here, too. I hope you enjoy this parts pack. :)

About the Parts: Parts and Features List

Naten Innovations will add more and more things to KSP as time passes, especially because I now have my new gaming computer I built up and running. :)

Here is a list of some (if not all) features included in this parts pack:

  • More and more Emissive Textures will be added into this parts pack as it's updated and it gets an art pass. The first one is the Orbital Engine (forgot its exact name and model number :()

I've still got a long way to go before all of the parts recieve all optimal features' implementation into their systems, as well as art and model passes or a complete overhaul, so don't expect Tiber-KwPunch9 Procedural Aerospace out of this. :)

So, what are you waiting for? Time is 'a'wasting!

:D

download now. :)

Space awaits, as does the rocket on the pad. Lift off and

On Legacy Parts: WARNING! ;.;

:(

WARNING! Read below statement, please!

The new version of this pack does not have the legacy cluster engine system. Those are being reworked and tweaked, and will be reimplemented in a few moments' time of updates. Please, if you have used the adapters or cluster engines from the legacy version, please please PLEASE download them here:

Thanks. :)

Incomplete, but still pretty big redux! :D (Updated forum thread, wrote poetic poetry-ey stuff all over the screen. :) )

A mass of 0.65 on a 20kN engine is pretty bad tbh. I realise you don't want to make some kind of silly OP nonsense but that's a lot worse than the 909 and of course the small orange engine. Both of which have plenty of options to cluster with all the mods going around. Take a look at AIES for examples of such surface mountable cluster motors.

Agreed. Going by the Isp, which fits the nicely stockalike design of the engine bell fine, you could balance the thrust-to-mass ratio against the LVT-30 - which gives you a mass of 0.15~ tons for a 25 kN, 365 Isp thruster.

Due to feedback regarding the tiny little adorable Cluster Engine, it is now more balanced! :D

New stats! (as far as I can remember)

Mass: 0.18 Tonnes

Thrust: 28 Kilo-Gx4C1fy.jpg's. (jajaja I C wut U did thearr!!111)

How's it sound? :D

*update bump*

Sounds good! :cool:

Here's an Engine Ignitor cfg for it:

// Naten Innovations Cluster Engine

@PART[naten_miniClusterEngine]

{

MODULE

{

name = ModuleEngineIgnitor

ignitionsAvailable = 80

autoIgnitionTemperature = 700

ignitorType = Internal_Small

IGNITOR_RESOURCE

{

name = LiquidFuel

amount = 0.36

}

IGNITOR_RESOURCE

{

name = Oxidizer

amount = 0.44

}

// 80 Ignitions due to depreciation (Using LiquidFuel + Oxidizer)

}

}

Sounds good! :cool:

Oh, you made a plugin for this? Something like that wouldn't work without a plugin, or does the game's code support this already? Good idea, though! :D

Oh, bumps are against the rules of the forums if they're lacking in content? Ok, ok... :c

*goes into other room*

ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod DYJ likes the tiny engines ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod ohmy--...Er, you didn't see that. :sealed:

The smaller engine (6C) is not showing up in career mode. This is probably due to this line in the config:

TechRequired = advancedRocketry

There is no node called "advancedRocketry" in the stock tech tree. You probably meant:

TechRequired = advRocketry

That aside... awesome. :)

  • 2 weeks later...
You can use *fewer engines if less thrust is needed.

EDIT: this might count as a useless bump, but I can't delete it for some reason

ERM, COUGHCOUGH, ERM...,ERMEMEMRERMERMGERMERGERHM...CoughCOUGH! ACHOO! COUGH! AHEM!

Yes, I've found that fewer engines can make a ship accelerate less by decreasing the total amount of gases' shared momentum, therefore obeying Newton's third law of physics and sending the rocket up, but on a scale lesser than what the momentum combined previously was at the moment of higher numbers of both thrust, in kilonewtons, and engines (running, per cluster running), in engines, measured in Arabic numerics, thereby decreasing the total thrust-to-weight ratio, or TWR, as it is known.

On a more serious note, my new PC now has Blender and Unity. I can do things like record videos @10-25 FPS on essentially max settings! :D

I'll try to get more stuff up as soon as possibru. :)

Is it up for downloading ?

EDIT when click download just highlight words ?

Dearly sorry, my friend. I forgot to make the text work as a clickable link. :(

It works now, sorry for the delay; if you have even more problems, click here: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/naten-innovations/

Many thanks for your patience. :)

I hope you can get it working now. I'm really sorry. ;.;

Good day,

-Naten :)
