New altitude record for the uglycopter...

I think this design has now run its course. The more altitude and speed I expose it to, the more its inherent design flaw inefficiencies show through. Given the lack of a reliable enough driveshaft (to get rid of the jet engine and use a real tail rotor), this design will never become practically viable... The lateral thrust just causes chaos with the handling. Although I have managed no less than 40m/s in forward flight, it should do 30+ sustained. The issue is that when it then torques itself out of "straight and level"... Well it just causes chaos in the bearing. Every now and then a section of the floor explodes and falls away. Could probably add some wheels to the underside of the decoupler to help keep it in a bit better, but it's only a problem when you're abusing it, or its getting away from you, so always.

Still, it could be worse, I could have gone to space...

Holler if you want the craft file. It currently runs on infinite fuel and infinite RCS

It flies really well currently, even has a cargo-bay (bomb-bay?). I'd like to see if I can make it actually into space, but for now it is strictly atmospheric.

Also, I hate the thickness difference in the wings. I wish there was a way to smooth it all over better ... going to keep working and see what I can come up with.

My new shuttle is looking well. I hope it will be finished and properly forum-ready by the end of the week. Until then you can enjoy some eye-candy.

The last bits of work it needs is making the launch tower prettier. It has both a stock elevator up to the orbiter and a retractable arm for the crew to walk across to board the shuttle. After seeing the idea used by Inigma I thought it would be an essential part of the design. The rest of the shuttle both looks and functions gorgeously.

My girl and were in a fight a few years back. I then grabbed a piece of paper and started drawing something. When i was finished I showed it to her. She was astonished, it was her dream house from the age of 12 (and we're talking 30 years later) and never told me a thing about it.

Not finished, already 850 parts. The thing with the black roof is the garage, not finished and low priority. It exploded later.

The top is a glass canopy, our bed's height is electrically adjustable from 30cm to 2.2m, so we can watch the sky at night. On the first floor there's a bathroom (not built yet), a storage room, a sleeping room for guests and a hallway to our bedroom. Solar panels for the illusion of curtains. Between the purple, steel beams there's glass.

Anyone knows a nice spot in the mountains close to a river?

I call her "TurboBox IIIa-11 - Hopenook IIa". She fugly, but she can fly. Flight time measured in seconds.

Oh, and did I mention its less than 180 parts? Has had no optimisations whatsoever, yet. Has some issues... I really got learn how to do this things properly so I can make the rotors less fugly.

Try http://www.kerbalmaps.com/ The big river in the northwest has a huge drop-off on the sides, try a smaller lake. Also, kerbinside's launch sites are beautiful.

The TARDIS : Tweakscale and KerbPaint! I wanted to do a bit of something before moving to the Galileo Mission to Jupiter, and Series 9 starts n a couple days so... It's still WIP, Still missing much detail on top, but the shape is mostly done, it's based off the 2005 Tardis, I think.

Extremely oversized?

Almost :-P

I've redesigned the nose of the ALRM1 to give it more downforce at high speeds. I can drive it stable in rough terrain up to 50 m/s where the previous version would make a back flip.

This shuttle is giving me grief at every turn, but I'm gradually working out the problems one by one. So far I've managed to launch 9 tons to a 500km orbit, and that was with at least 6 flips on the way up...

Edit: 18 tons to orbit now. :)
