Develop a cargo bay for a SSTO spaceplane.

Scores will be based on payload weight and part count.

Rules:

1. No cheats (Hack gravity, infinite fuel)

2. Must be a completely reusable plane

3. Only Mechjeb and Infernal Robotics allowed.

4. Rocket Sleds are allowed provided the sled is reusable.

5. You must show flight from launch, to middle of flight, to payload deployment, to landing

6. landing must be wheel guided

According to your scoring system, bays with larger part counts will get more points. Not sure if that's intentional. Also, you'll have to define "visited". Entered the SOI? Orbit? Landed and took off?

It is entirely intentional.

And the latter has been corrected.

All ssto's are fragile... Considering the amount of wing parts. Besides I gurentee it is very possible.

Sounds like a fun challenge but I have no idea how to actually do it.

Well, I used to make massive cargo planes all the time, and with the advent of the RAPIER, I've been learning how to make SSTO's, so might as well try to combine the two skills.

Would these two craft be the sort of thing that you are talking about? Both can carry over 20 tonnes into orbit and to laythe...
