Hi, great mod! Use it now all the time. But I was very surprised that there are no ribbons for Spaceplane Achievements (first to fly into orbit, landing safely etc.). Why is that? Sorry if i missed some conversations about this topic in other postings, but i am new to the final frontier :)

Thanx anyway!

Detecting space plane achievements its not that easy. First: how should FF distinguish between a plane and a rocket? KSP detects landings on the runway but i don't know how to integrate this in FF.

If anybody has an idea, just let me know.

Same way you're detecting for the solid booster achievements, 50% or more thrust provided by Basic Jet, Turbofan or RAPIER + >2 vehicle lift = Spaceplane.

Side note, will you use the vanilla KSP toolbar?

Could you do it by figuring out which part the command part is? So, if the command part is a spaceplane cockpit, then you give spaceplane achievements?

And if someone is using an aircraft/spaceplane cockpit on a rocket? ;)

I don't think this will work well.

Put this in the Add-on support thread. Just wanted to make sure Nereid saw the post.

http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/87751-Final-Frontier-Crashing

FinalFrontier and Mechjeb are incompatible. The reason that is causing this, is not known. FF without MJ and MJ without FF works but together they cause problems.

EDIT: Thats not the whole story. Mechjeb and FF work together under some (yet unknown) circumstances. Maybe FF 0.5.5 works better (and perhaps I should repleace the static access to some singletons with a GetInstance()... maybe that is causing this).

So Im not seeing the ribbons for the jool Grand Tour in the list of ribbons that can be awarded?

Is this unintentional?

Its there. Just above the Jool ribbons. Its calle "Jool Tour Ribbon".

That would explain why every other Final Frontier update I get crashes all the time and end up sticking to the previous version, still on 0.5.3, and so far so good. Just hope my save is not corrupted at some point.

Make a backup and try 0.5.5. This works for me even with Mechjeb and other mods installed.

EDIT: FF does nothing directly to your save. But a crash while saving may of course get you a corrupted save.

Is there a way to change the g-force ribbon so that is only awarded after the said # of Gs is sustained for a period of time, like 5 or 10 seconds?

Ok, now I understand. It seems in 0.24.2 we reach much higher gees now. I have just started a rocket and got 6 gee s in just under a minute. Seems I will have to do something about this...

Yessir. I doesn't take long for my entire inventory of Kerbals to reach 6g. Maybe a 7 8 9 and 10 g ribbon too? That might help if you cant award the ribbon for sustained G forces over 5-10 seconds. Because high G does happen occasionally. We just need to figure out if we want to record small spikes or sustained endurance. I'd get a 7 8 9 and 10 G ribbon fixed up for you but I never got a hold of Smarterthanme's assets. :D (I crack myself up) Lets see what you think and wait for Smarterthanme to chime in.

I will add ribbons for higher Gees. But to award them only after a few seconds sounds like a good idea. I will try this next weekend. Unfortunately I'm again out for business until Thursday.

Nereid, do you know of any way to keep track, sort of a history, of what happens to a craft. Starting with time of 'load' to either pad or runway, then things like time of launch, staging, etc....

it would seem that this data is being created somewhere (possible in persistence file) and would be nice to be able to store and go through to see what happened, where and such...

any info is appreciated.

Posted this in my thread, figured I'd share on here as well, since I get asked for these every now and then.

Silver devices are usually higher grade than a bronze device.

Hit F3, I believe that's what your asking for.

Can I have the assets that you've used there as separate images (the wings, especially)?

I didn't think to save them. I collapsed each layer as I saved out the pngs.

I think I started with some wings I found online.

Nice. If I got your permission, I will add them in the next release as custom ribbons.
