long story short, Jeb is stranded between kerbin and Duna orbiting around the sun. I have tried a few attempts to intercept with him for a rescue mission but this has proven difficult since he does not have a gravity well. I am not the best pilot but I was wondering. is it even possible? he has been floating out there for about 2 years now and I imagine he is running out of ways to pass the time.

I suspect it would be just like doing rendezvouses over Kerbin, only on a much much longer time scale

Incorrect. Jeb's gigantic brass balls have their own SOI

But seriously, a rendezvous in kerbol-orbit is exactly the same as any other rendezvous except in terms of timescales. But a note: you may wind up spending more DV than you expected if you don't pay attention to phase angles--it's perfectly possible to brute-force a rendezvous, but you'll need to plan acordingly.

See if it's possible to get a Kerbin intercept using the Jeb's EVA pack and aerobrake into Kerbin orbit. Rendezvous from there will be much easier than a deep space rendezvous.

It's possible to do, just like a rendezvous around Kerbin. I've done it before.

That said, it is not as easy, in fact it is painful.

While in Kerbin orbit, I end up with closest approaches under 1km fairly easily. While in a Kerbol orbit, 20km is close, which makes closing the gap harder. I ran out of RCS in the end and had to dock with rockets. Also, due to the way KSP represents distances etc, time warping when more than 200 meters apart can move your target significantly (like kilometers), so don't time warp when close but over 200 meters away.
