GROOV3ST3R
In that case, I will post up the Season 2 mod pack now without any rules attached (possibly with old track layouts still in there) - as they can be found on the forums and are subject to change. Here you go: https://github.com/GROOV3ST3R/GPSeason2/archive/master.zipIncludes all mods we will be using next season ^^ The file is 12 Megabytes. Kyrian, please link it in the original post for convenience. As it points directly to the master repository, I will be able to alter it without the need to change links - so if/when anything changes, people will be able to download it right away. NQMT
I'm gonna get GROOV3ST3R to open Race 3.We'll have races every two or three weeks, so we can extend the length of the championship.I can't release Race 3, I'm getting my third molars (wisdom teeth) removed soon and I'll be off for a while. GROOV3ST3R
Good thing I'm not having any dental work being done at the moment :3Well, in that case I will open the new race soon. Possibly today.I was rather curious about the test track, but I think for now, we can manage just having KSC as a generic test track, until further notice. From this point onward, you ARE allowed to use mods from the Season 2 mod pack provided. You can't change your vehicle structurally, but you can incorporate the new features as addons for the rest of the season. That's why they are there.Good luck and we will resume normal service shortly.
GROOV3ST3R
Right, I think it's time to open Race 3. Apologies to everyone waiting, there have been small delays but we're back in the room ^^And we are kicking things off again with....Race Three:KYRIAN GPIt is a track made in honor of (and probably also by) our founder, Kyrian. It looks like a fast and short one so expect quick times and a heated competition.Green line marks the start and direction of the race. It's signified in game as a pedestrian crossing, rather conveniently for you.Without any further ado, let's start.Race Standings:1st. Kyrian 1:172nd. Robbii6 1:183rd. Donfede 1:224th. Hermanberk 1:315th. DaPatman 1:346th. CaptainGiblets 1:397th.8th.Good luck everyone! Edited April 18, 2014 by GROOV3ST3R

GROOV3ST3R
yes, but not the closed races. Meaning, you can't score anything for races one and two. You can only enter for race 3 onwards.

donfede
Ok here is my entryTeam: Karterbang Formula K Team (KFKT)Driver: Sonman KermanCar: KFKT-MK I...Looks good to me. You can now submit entries for Race 3 onwards. Good luck ^^Welcome aboard herman, and nice looking racer. However, not to be pedantic (or to contradict race coordinators) ... but the above entry has no mention or photo of mass -- which I understand is to be 0.9t or more with empty RCS per the posted rules. (i don't expect an issue with that steel girder, but still...)looking forward to racing together, kdonfede
GROOV3ST3R
The landing gear and the long girder alone put it beyond 0.9t. I expect that craft to be nearly 2t fuelled.
Lord Banjo
It looks Heavy enough, butt note that the landing gear weight is only in the VAB/SPH and doesn't affect in game physics. (yes this is my first post)
NQMT
Before anyone enters anything:GROOV3ST3R - Please note that this race will be ANTICLOCKWISE.Also:to Lord Banjo: Welcome to the forums!to hermanberk: Welcome to the competition! GROOV3ST3R
Wait, so you are changing the actual direction in which the race was RECORDED?? The race track for this one was CLOCKWISE when I replayed it, hence why I put the arrows in this way. How come it's the other way round now?.... NQMT
GROOV3ST3R, I reran the track and preferred it the other way. I now think there should be a run to the finish line, not a corner.
DaPatman
I totally agree. This is a track where for the most part you can avoid braking and just coast around corners. Having a tight hairpin right before the finish line wouldn't really fit.Anyway, Heikki has completed it in a time of 1:34 (MET 1:05 - MET 2:39):Javascript is disabled. NQMT
Just FYI, DaPatman, PersistentTrails doesn't record on straights. They turn up as soon as you turn.
GROOV3ST3R
From my experience, persistent trails records all the time from the moment you set it to record. It DOES record on straights. If there is a delay before the lines show up then your precision is too low and/or interval time too high. It's recorded my previous laps from the very beginning when I didn't turn for a while and your original lap where you just went straight right off the start. So I don't know how or why it wouldn't record straights.
CaptainGiblets
Kyrian or GROOV3ST3R, I was wondering if I could change the front wheelbase of the car by one cubic strut, if not, that is completely fine.
GROOV3ST3R
Hmm, it's a gray area. Which way are you changing it? Are you changing the length (wheelbase) or just spacing the wheels further out (i.e. adding spacers)?I don't really see how it would make a big difference - but it will affect how your car takes corners a bit. I'll say it's okay for now, but you need the last word from Kyrian.
CaptainGiblets
I'm changing the wheelbase at the front from one cubic strut out to two cubic struts out
DaPatman
If there is a delay before the lines show up then your precision is too low and/or interval time too high.I am recording at high precision - the screenshots prove that. I suppose it could be due to the fact that despite turning all the graphics options all the way down, I'm still experiencing slowdown when the Persistent Trails window is open. That might be the reason why sometimes it stops drawing for a second before drawing half a dozen steps all at once which in turn could explain the early cutoff - I must have stopped recording while it wasn't drawing.Ah, well. I'm not rerunning it anyway - that was a full 4 seconds better than my second fastest run, and I'm not sure I could repeat the feat. I might close the Persistent Trails window while doing future runs, though, see if that helps.
