Launch smoke

who else agrees it would be cool if when launching the engines need to spool up when you fire it and while its spooling, the large plumes of water vapor under the launch pad caused by the engine heat goes everywhere. that would be so awesome. does anyone think they can make a mod for this:cool:

I can't remember which mod it is/was, (possibly NovaPunch) that had a "smoke generator" part. I attached them radially to a fuel tank attached to launch clamps, and set them to go off as stage 0.

HotRockets was working on this at one point, creating thicker smoke plumes, landing ground effects, and smoke blowing out the side grates of the pad.

I will try making one of these, it will have crazy mass and stuff but that will keep it on the pad almost certainly.

This will be a little decoupler type thing that will be, essentially, a flat plate shaped like a quadrangular square to attach to the bottom of a rocket. Then, it can have thrust transforms making ~500 kN of thrust on both sides to counter itself, with a bunch of transforms per side, all assigned smokeTrail_heavy or whatever it is, the SRB exhaust sparks, too, and some other "rocket crap!"

what about a mod that makes the engin smoke colide with the ground and go out the launch pad "exahust" ports (the squares in the side of the pad) like in real life?

Don't hold your breath. If you really want to go that route, your best bet is to make a special Linux installation on a spare hard drive or thumb stick.
