Can't target planet

So in the middle of a mission I switched from one ship to a second (sending 2 ships to Jool at once) and it won't let me reset target to Jool. It suggests the space craft that is landed on one of Jool's moons. I've tried restarting, switching craft, nothing works. I targeted Jool in order to allow Mechjeb to transfer to planet. It started after switching craft.

[edit] fixed. fast forwarded to escape Kerbin and it seemed to work.

You can click on the orbital line of a world to select it. If it's a moon of a planet, you can tab over to view it up-close and select it from there.
