Does any one know If I can still get this for .24.2?

I am asking because I can't get it to work for .25

The previous installer is still hosted (won't be forever though). Give me a moment and I'll track down the link... download v409 installer here. Keep in mind it is outdated and doesn't have the latest bugfixes, although you can find some of them in this thread.

I am using ATM x86 32bit ksp KSO25 and SS parts and I don't have any problems. of course I updated Firespitter and JSI via the new b9 update. And all seems OK.

All the plugins are up-to-date in KSOS save for Klockheed_Martian's Gimbal plugin (discontinued but still works) and firespitter (Snjo is taking a break, latest DLL is the same, just doesn't throw a version warning message). When I get around to cleaning up the RPM stuff and update the downloads, I'll throw in that DLL.

Hey, I know you guys are pretty much finished with development of the KSOS, but in case you ever want to do a Phase V, a great idea would be a 747-style jet that can carry the KSO (both variants). Also, in the style of the Kerbostar you could create a Cessna-type plane.

Anyway, those are my ideas. This mod is absolutely excellent.

I just installed the ground vehicle pack and none of the vehicles touch the ground and are not drive able. Any suggestions?

You need to make sure the arrows on the wheels are facing down. On the inside of the wheels is an arrow (it's hard to see, especially with texture compression) that needs to point down.

@stardestroyer go here http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/24551-Firespitter-propeller-plane-and-helicopter-parts-v6-3-5-%28Sep-1st%29-for-KSP-0-24-2 download the plugin only go to firespitter folder in gamedata open plugins delete the DLL in there copy new downloaded DLL to the same place TADA good to go

747 equivalent right here, very early WIP but at least I've got something for it. If I can get most of it done I'll open up a community expansion thread where people can post stuff that they've designed to expand this mod.

there is a problem with KSP when loading TGA files KSO is all TGA files so your likely to have a problem are you using ATM as this seems to rectify it I havent had an issue to be honest

Thanks for that info, I've also had the blank KSO textures so I'll check out ATM to see if it fixes the issue.

The issue I am having is not just that I don't touch the ground, but that no kerbals appear in the bottom right corner like all other crafts. Even the premade police car and fire truck do not work. I also can't toggle the emergency lights on either of them.

Looks cool, but I don't like how the parts are so specific that you can only build just the shuttle and pretty much nothing else with them.

Lack Luster Labs has some parts that let you make a 747-like aircraft if you wanna check that out. What I've got right now is that front section you see above. I'm going to put everything in the same mesh initially so that everything lines up and then I'll split things up into individual parts. Making fully modular aircraft is tricky, but I'll see what I can do.

In theory the engines and possibly the control surfaces will be compatible with things beyond the TA7, but for now the hull parts and whatnot will be designed for use with the TA7 exclusively. If I can find the time to work on it regularly I may eventually develop a whole line of aircraft parts kinda like the stock rocket parts or SP+.

Building segmented parts that can be used in verious ways to build things is not a simple task. And it often makes building a working ship very hard.

The core of KSOS (the 1.8m Standard Shuttle) isnt meant to soothe the itch to be able to build your own ship. Its meant to be able to be installed and to give users a craft capable of delivering a payload to orbit and returning back to KSC. The other phases were added for varying reasons:

Phase 2, the Station Package, was added to give the 1.8m Shuttle cargo to carry that was more than just sattelites built with the core KSP parts.

Phase 3, the 2.5m EWBCL, was added to give users a shuttle capable of carrying the vast amount of other station part packages that were too large for the Standard to carry to orbit. This means parts packages like FusTek and etc.

Phase 4, the Service Vehicles Package, was added for a few reasons. The Service Vehicle Package has its roots in Phase 3, because the EWBCL has no airstair, it made it hard to get crew off the shuttle after it had landed. The vehicles are also KAS compatible (where appropriate), and it provides content for the players, beyond flying rockets and planes and building stations. It lets the player pretend they are actually running a space program. You can refuel planes with the fuel truck (and KAS), you can transport crew with the bus, carry stuff with the container, or just put stuff on the flat bed. The patrol car allows you to provide security for KSC, etc.

This was never billd as a 'build your own ship' package. It's a system that provides 2 working shuttles, that anyone can get to orbit, with minimal setup.

As an aside, not related to the above:

If Ive read right, 24.2 has issues with loading TGA files into memory twice... if I wanted to convert ever texture into a PNG is that just as simple as opening them in photoshop and resaving them all as PNG?

Previous versions of ATM did exactly this (current version now uses DXT). So, if you have an old copy around, I believe you could have it do the work for you on a test installation, then replace the orignals. They would be located in ATM's texture cache. Just need to make sure it's setup to convert all the KSOS textures. I've not tested this though. Otherwise, you could convert them yourself with a photo editor.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Designing the parts to work in one configuration is a lot easier than designing fully modular parts that can be used in a lot of unique cases, which is why I don't design parts very often. I'll definitely try for a setup for the TA7 that enables some unique configurations, but it's tricky business as a whole. At the very least I'll design it so that it's easy to expand on if people want to make their own parts for it.

This assumes that I can get adequate time for actually working on it, of course. Take today as an example: I just got a new backup hard drive so even if I had enough free time to work on things my computer is preoccupied with zeroing and formatting that drive, which involves using a different OS than what I use for gaming-related things.

As for converting the .tgas into .pngs, it should be fine if you do it that way. Just make sure the names are all the same and I believe it will work as-is.

I probably have old version od ATM around... but not a previous version of KSP to run it on... and Id need to get it to not compress the textures... but if all I need to do is open them in an editor and resave then I can set aside sometime to do just that. And hopefully see some big savings on memory usage in 24.2, since Im not planning on moving ts any new version of KSP.

I sent you a PM, Avalon. Let me know if that helps.

Help!

6hW4oeb.jpg

I have updated my KSO mod and it keeps on crashing on me. The game just closes on me whenever KSP finishes loading. I tried replacing the Firespitter.dll with the new one and it still crashed. I have tried updating Raster Prop Monitor AND Active Texture Management and it still crashes.I tries individual packs and it still crashed. I tried a complete reinstall of Kerbal Space Program and the game still keeps on crashing on me. I know it is not my memory on my laptop because the game still crashes with this mod when it is the only one. What could possibly be the problem?
