So, linux version of ksp runs on 64 bit unity, i dont think i have to tell what it means.

What i want to know, is it maybe somehow flawed? Some mods wont work, game is less stable?

If there no such issues i might just make linux partition for playing ksp.

I'm running the 64bit version on linux and havent found any issues yet compared with my winders game. In fact I started using mods in my linux game.

Of course there may be stability issues if you are running odd hardware that your linux distro doesnt support. But that is purely an issue with the OS/Computer and not with KSP

I personally only run the 64 bit linux version these days. With the amount of mods I use, it's infinitely more stable than the windows version, which would crash incessantly. With the linux version, I regularly see my ram usage for KSP up to 7Gigs while remaining completely stable. There are two caveats though - AMD cards, even fast ones, unfortunately have atrocious performance with KSP. I recently switched (back) to an Nvidia card, and the performance difference is night and day. Second - you have to apply the "binary patch" (can be found on the linux compatability thread), or any mod using png textures will crash the game.

You might occasionally run into a mod that doesn't work on Linux (typically because of case-sensitive file names and paths, using \ as a path delimiter instead of /, etc), but otherwise things are ok. I've honestly had more issues with KSP on OS-X than Linux, due mostly to Unity weirdness and my integrated graphics.

(Well, except for some hardware issues that screw up joystick support, but I have "weird" hardware.)

Another member of the linux master race reporting in. KSP on linux runs *much better* than on windows or crapple is.anti-aliasing doesn't seem to work quite right, but other than that no issues.

Though, you will need to read the linux compatibility thread and apply the segfault patch to tale advantage of the removed ram ceiling.

I would use KSP on Linux if I was able to, the difference isn't much, but it is definitely noticeable. And when running lots of mods, 64bit is so much better.

Unfortunately, my laptop has the slightly unusual Nvidia Optimus setup, where the computer decides whether the dedicated Nvidia GPU or the integrated Intel GPU handles certain tasks, and when I last tried it, the support was pretty shoddy for Linux and I couldn't find a work around, meaning KSP was only running on my little Intel card and I was missing out on some neat graphical effects like reentry heat. And in trying to fix it I completely broke Ubuntu and the GUI no longer works... only the command line interface XD

If the situation has changed and the Optimus Bumblebee thing actually works now, someone give me a nod and I might go back :)

Oh, another problem, if I switched over to steam is it still possible to get the 64bit version? :S
