this might be a little help, but on the 0.16 PartTools page, there's a quick tutorial mentioned for docking -

1. Create a box around your airlock in your modelling software

2. Load your stuff into unity

3. Add a unity tag named 'Airlock' and a layer named 'Part Triggers'

4. Assign the tag to your airlock and move it to the Part Triggers layer you just created

5. Use the new yet to be released parttools or devhax to export your part.

Loving the clean look of the crafts. Question, are these solar panels compatible with EPS and ZO2? I'm looking into setting up several orbital bases after my com links are deployed and would love to use your designs. Also, with the SpaceBuild mod, are any of these parts compatible with that? If not, how is the docking system working for part connections? Thanks in advance.

To my knowledge all parts are compactible with the orbital construction mod and there isn't an operating docking mod yet, you can attach things, but if you time accelerate they drift apart...

The solar array isn't compatible with any mods that I know of. And I haven't heard of the SpaceBuild mod.

Its a mod that take parts from a rocket near your "space dock" and put them in an inventory, with wich you can build ships and launch them from orbit. Any part should be compactible....

EDIT: here is the link: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/showthread.php/9283-0-16-0-Plugin-Orbital-Planetary-Construction-V9-3

The physics are really wonky but it works:

I might need to scale it up.

Edit:

Could a mod tell me how to change the thread title?

I'm really liking this rover. I can't wait for the release so I can start sending probes. I've never been able to do a good-old fashion rover mission. As for scale, I'd suggest leaving it at about 0.5 meter tall. Can't make them too large considering the size of Kerbals and their rockets.

Btw, I think the mods would like it if you spoilered your images

While I understand "spoilering" images in official threads to a certain degree, why should they care in someone's personal thread?

EDIT: Especially if the thread's purpose is showcasing part models...

Also, the thread doesn't load any faster if you "hide" images inside spoiler tags, the images are loaded all the same.

I agree with this post. This is why I haven't "spoilered" them.

That looks great Pelf, I'm really loving your work man! An apparently I'm the only one here who likes the blank textures ^^

I'm actually enjoying this style as well. I really love having a nice minimalist and clean design for things as high-tiered as space stations. I look forward to seeing how the probes will act when they are done. Pelf, are you going to be having the rovers travel in a heat shield and then roll out of it? Cause the main thing I always wonder about is the impact on the surface of the planet.

What do you guys think of the texture that's in the works? Minimalist but not a solid grey (the contrast will be increased a bit).

Right now the probe's physics are a little odd but it's being worked on. Same with the rover. I'll probably double the size of the rover since KSP doesn't like really small sizes/masses. I started an MSL-style aeroshell to encase rovers or landers and I'll probably make some other aeroshells and jetpacks and landers and stuff.

I think ElJugador is referring to crew ingress/egress limitations still in the mod. Several of the ExPI parts are now pods. There is no visible airlock, no right-clickable area for eva, and no crew pictures on the 2x2 habitat "pod". There's no crew allowed on the non-pod variants of the parts, even the airlocks.

I'd love to have the non-pod airlock parts at least turned into crewable parts.

I actually didn't realize that there were not crew portraits or anything for the core modules. I had left that stuff out when I did the .cfg parameters for them. I fixed it now though. Due to the current limitations by the game (not being able to EVA crew from different hatches on the same vessel), the crewed modules are pretty useless right now. Only the airlocks will get hatches. The non-pod ones will be made crewable.
