So Kerbals CAN walk on boats now... and are my Kerbals getting braver?

On a whim, I decided to start designing some recreational craft for my Kerbals (they certainly deserve it). I had heard before that the game would not allow Kerbals to stand on floating craft, but after some testing, its clear that this is no longer the case.

Also, something I've noticed recently is that some of my Kerbals almost seem to be getting braver with experience. Or, at least, Bill and Bob do.

As that boat was speeding across the water, I took this:

Bill seemed stoic and had a hint of a smile while the other two less experienced crew look quite concerned.

Am I imagining it, or did Squad sneak something in?

before version 0.23 you couldn't walk on parts but in 0.23 the fixed the kerbals so they could

I think it was more that they fixed a bug, which resulted in them being able to walk better. There was a bug where they could fall over and never get up...I always attributed this to the sniper kraken.

I believe Kerbals kept falling over in the previous versions because the game thought the craft was always in motion in water. There was a mod back then that forced the craft to be registered as 'landed' while in water, thus allowing kerbals to walk on the now 'static' ship. I assume the fix in 0.23 does the same thing.

It's less an update and more Kerbals gaining conciousness. They're learning on their own. Be scared.

Its the Kerbunov KN-2 I think. Really cool mod.

My kerbals are able to walk on parts at up to 2Gs of force, and then they go into ragdoll mode.

(If you wanted to know how I tested that, it involves 20 tonnes of airship ballons, jebadiah and 27 main sails.)
