How do I modify a cfg file to make a mod career mode ready?

I have just downloaded Infernal Robotics and find nothing in career mode that I can use. I understand that it is possible for me to edit a cfg file to fix this. Am I right? If so could someone tell me how to do it please.

Also, with the TAC Fuel Balancer I see Scott Manley moving fuel about by right clicking the tanks. I have TAC FB and right clicking doesn't work for me. Another cfg edit?

Many thanks

The latest version of MSI/IR has career mode integration

If you check the .cfg files you can see they have "TechRequired =" and "entryCost =" arguements

No idea about TAC-FB though, is it one of the mods where you need a part (i.e. a pump) on the ship (kind of like Engineer Redux has the build/flight parts)?

No clue on the first one, but TAC fuel balancer does not allow you to right click and transfer fuel. However, the stock game does. I haven't seen that video or I wasn't paying attention. There is a newer (and IMO better) mod called Goodspeed that may be what he was talking about? No clue. It allows you to set up automatic pumping via right clicking the parts. I've uninstalled TAC after getting used to Goodspeed.

I must be doing something really stupid. First: I have downloaded the latest IR and installed it. I find the stuff in sandbox but not in my career mode. Nothing in the tech tree either. And worst still I can't find a cfg file for it either.

Second: As for transferring fuel in the stock game if I right click a tank I get a green bar showing the amount of fuel and oxidiser, each with a little green triangle which if I click turns into a red no entry sign. No sign of any ability to transfer fuel to another tank.

I have also downloaded Procedural Fairings. The stuff appears in the tech tree and I researched it all but find that some parts are not available because I have not paid for them.

I will check out Goodspeed.

For those that haven't seen them the Interstellar Quest videos by Scott Manley are well worth a watch (40 episodes so far and counting)

You may have realised I am a bit of a newbie here.

Okay done that. Thanks. I see there is no entry for TechRequired in the cfg files so it looks like IR is not career mode compliant. I tried putting TechRequired = Start in a couple of them but that did nothing.

I guess I should give up Robotics until I know what I am doing.

You might need to add

"TechRequired = start

entryCost = 0"

Just above each "Cost"

Sorry its been a while since I attacked CFGs

Also I have seen that IR likes to add multiple parts in a single CFG, this is not normal but can be done, each part needs to have the lines added just before each parts "Cost"
