viewing them on the mobile at work at the moment as I can't get imgur (boo) but these are amazing - the dents adds a bit of wear and tear to it which is awesome!! :D

No need for a logo - plain is good enough for now

Would it be possible if you can do one with green trim too now? and if you get time can you do the X200-32's?

Once I have these I can show off what I'm trying to do and might give you a better idea :D

Many thanks for your work :D

Watching this with interest... at the moment I have need for custom sized tanks for various fuels (including non-stock stuff from Interstellar). A simple good looking set with a choice of trim colors could be exactly what I'm looking for if you make them look good! :)

Me too !! Its surprising how much there is a lack in just plain tanks that we can modify for our own uses!

Is there any particular one you're after?

Model wise I think the following...

A short 1.25m liquid sized about like the FL-T100

A medium 1.25m liquid sized about like the FL-T200

A tall 1.25m liquid sized about like the FL-T800

A short 2.50m liquid sized about like the Rockomax X200-8

Would also be interested in some gas-looking tanks similar to the stock Xenon in larger sizes.

hi.

I have ready various sized "resource" tanks for my plugin. In new version of plugin, tanks are resized to an "modular system" with FL-T800 as "base module". So, smaller tanks are not in size of FL-T200, but little bigger - with volume of 220 fuel unit and its height is exactly 1/3 height of FL-T800.

Small sized tanks

Medium sized tanks (mostly for SCRAMJet)

Big sized tanks

Create an new textures should be not a problem. The question is (for me) rather "color coding" for different contents of tanks and actual tanks volume / content depending on the density of the stored material.

and second thought / idea - the fuel tank is designed for "liquids" and for rockets as "flying things". For an "bulk materials" and for ground transports and manipulation would be suitable tank although similar, but nonetheless visually different - for example, with an "protective frame".

Those are awesome!! I think I may have borrowed you image as an example (sorry)

The idea behind this is to get as generic as possible so they can be used by modders for many different applications - green could be used for oxygen or kethane or waste water (eww) but I do see the point of perhaps giving them more specific style. I'm currently in the need of water tanks, kethane tanks in the same style and then I need iron and iron ore tanks / containers. I'm useless at moddeling and being arty with textures so I'm hoping to get the likes of you two to help me out.

So I'm thinking blue glass / plexiglass for the water tank? Same in green for kethane (it's probably a gas compressed into a liquid anyway)? Maybe a square box or framed tank with red trim for iron and brown trim for iron ore? What do you guys think?

Edit: yep they were your tanks! http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/60853-0-22-x-Alchemy-Technologies-products-v02 Hope you don't mind :)

One quick attempt - containerized tanks for bulk material (such as ore, minerals, raw metal ...) - standard FLT800 with an external support construction

uZ2Zv2W.png

Problem - the containers have the same nodes as the tanka, this causing some problems for horizontal placement. Are suitable only for vertical placement :(

I'm liking version B :D

Would there be anyway to put the trusts around the tank itself like you did with the ALW-FTB-250-950F?

Check out my Kethane mine: the tanks are cartridges for the different resources - so I can swap them out as required. This one is geared up for both Water and Kethane mining!

Thanks again blackheart612.

I'll release these to my addon's when I get the chance and I've credited you in the cfg files of course :D

Edit:

I tried to edit the persistent file to replace the current (illegal tanks) on my miner on the mun but it clipped a bit. Still awesome until we ship over some more stable versions !lol

ALW-FTB-250-950F is resized and retextured from fuel tank FL-T100 - so, "reinforcement" is directly part of original model. But FL-T100 is "flat" and rescaled to scale FL-T800 not look very good - its looks similar as ALW-FTB-0625-65F on first image. The "flanges" are far too large.

are you able to do something similar to the one you did with external reinforcement but have it wrapped around the tanks (I'm thinking of something like chicken wire wrapped around it :/ )

My attempt to create something similar to FL-T100 - FL-T200 connected to Octogonal strut. Octogonal strut flange is too wide, so, Octogonal strut must be only "external".

amazing work kyklop!

On the first pic ALWCT-125-220 I liked the interior ones.

On the second pic I liked 950E, 800G and ... Actually the octagonal tanks do look good - I think I'm torn with the fact that they probably wouldn't fit on my ships in their current configuration but I think they actually look pretty snazzy!

Will you be able to do something similar for the Rockomax X200-32 Fuel Tank similar to your 3000G but with a red trim - not sure how you would do the trim whether to have the struts coloured that way or to have it painted on like blackheart did on some of my screenshots above?

Do you mean something similar?

I feel like a kid in a sweet shop!! I have no idea which one I want to bite in to first!!

I think the red trusses are probably not to my taste but I'm not sure if other people would like them. I prefer the black trusses in the original tbh. I like the kethane text on the green ones with the text vertically printed (rather than embedded in the trim) but I'm not sure how much work you'll have to do in future if we name and colour each tank individually! I've done a deal with blackheart612 where they will create each tank in one colour then I'm able to open the png file in GIMP and remap the hue to a different colour - this is as far as my painting skills go! Thus freeing up blackheart612 to just create individual tanks and for me to create the colour range.

If you're willing to do each tank then I would love to have the following tanks:

your X200-32 (kethane texture 3 one) in the following paint:

Green - Kethane (like your example)

Blue - Water

Red - Iron

Brown - Iron Ore

That would be awesome thankyou :D
