How do I change my Avatar?

I go to my "Edit Avatar" and I can't choose a custom avatar?

What is going on?

When you first join the forum, there are some limits on your account until the software is sure you're not a spambot. (Also gives us a chance to take cussy words out of your posts.) Anyway, post a few more times and your account status will change, and then you'll gain the ability customize your profile.

I too was pulling my hair out of my head (using tweezers) trying to find where to use a custom avatar etc etc. Most new forums, or the ones I have invested in no longer have the delay in posting or avatar creation etc. I do understand the reasons for the function, but at the risk of revealing the don’t trust anyone over thirty and other hints that expose my age such as the ‘ question authority!’ saying ha ha.. ... Oh well, thanks for providing the excellent forum. I say that because on cursory examinations the membership and staff appear above

average in all areas and enjoy the same stuff I do.

What are "cussy words"?? I assume you mean swearing/profanity?

Anyway, I still don't have an avatar, can't think of a good image...
