How do I create a second install?

I want to create a second install for hard mode mods, how exactly do I do this?

Create a new folder, and copy or re-unzip the game's files into it. That's pretty much it.

You're welcome. I know this because I can't bring myself to delete or over-write the previous version when the new one comes out, so I still have all versions from 15.2 on my hard drive.

Yup, just duplicate the program folder. And yes, that does still work if you bought KSP on steam.

Excellent. I've been thinking of exactly this -- I've got a fabulously enjoyable 0.18.4 save going on, with hand-edited mods of publicly available mods (I was trying to pre-invent "career mode"); as some of the mods are no longer supported, there's really no way I could upgrade it.
