Full size stock Space Shuttle.

Who would like for Squad to develop a full size Space Shuttle?

I know there are mods for this, but most of them require Mechjeb (among others things), some of them are incomplete or just don't work. I think the best one out there is KSO, but that is a mini shuttle and you can't even fit a hab module in it. I do love KSO and use it a lot, but I can't make the space station I want with it, a lot of stock parts don't fit in the cargo bay.

I'm not asking for an exact NASA STS replica (although I had hoped there would be one in the NASA pack). I just want a shuttle that is big enough that it's cargo bay can hold space station modules.

Is anyone with me on this?

It would be a lot better to have the pieces which allow you to build a shuttle, but can also be used for other things. Just adding whole craft like that really isn't in the spirit of the game.

And I assume at some point in the future Squad will add cargo bays including a 2.5m one.

People make stock Shuttles all the time, and even I have tried (extremely unsuccessfully) in the past. Try making one for yourself! I think shuttles would be a great idea.

My guess that there will be eventually a stock space shuttle based on the space shuttle toy the devs are giving to some people.

Edit: even i made a succesful space shuttle with only stock parts.

At least i would like to see a Mk. II and Mk. III cargo bay and some shuttle engines. Some cargo compartments for 1.25 and 2.5 m parts would be appreciated as they would allow much fancier construction.

I know, there are mods with these parts available, but i would like to see them in the stock list as they complete the set in a very kerbal style in my opinion.

Well, the MK-3 parts are kind of meant to resemble the Space Shuttle, it's just that as the plane parts stand, none of them are finished, they are just acceptable to be released. The Devs have said previously that they wanted to completely overhaul the Space Plane parts, so really, I don't think it will be too long until we see them get some proper love, as I believe that that is part of the Rapier's reason for implementation.

Ive always said the killer to stock Space Shuttles right now are the lack of doors and no High gimbal high thrust engines. You can totally make Stock Space Shuttles, but its hard to get the Center of thrust and mass right. You have to end up bending the engines to compensate for the off center of mass, which changes.

There needs to just be more parts for Space Planes in general.

I personally had a feeling NASA wouldn't put in their super expensive STS system, since it sorta didn't work and they had to retired it. Where as the Russians are still using their 60's tech that was suppose to send people to the moon.

In time i defiantly see love for the Space Plane parts, but idk when that time is...
