GP2-5 Rocket Prototype

Recommended Posts

I've started working on a loose replica of the Saturn V rocket and the results are looking promising so far. This thing is huge at 718 tons and gives 12500kN of thrust off the launch pad providing an impressive lift capacity. I'm having trouble with the stability of the first stage however as it wobbles and bends when I try to turn. I haven't started the command module and lander either yet.

Mulbin did Munbug. :P And also nothing looks better than the Munbug launcher imo. :)

Sgt flyer had a Saturn V but couldn't build a lander, mulbin had a lander but not a launcher. They shared designs and Munbug has a launcher. I dont like how the fuel tanks bulge out a lot on munbug.Imo

Nice one, Jenkens! My only small comments would be a) You'd better build a heavy lander, and B) you'd better build a heavy CM. Other than that, does the interstage work, as in separate on its own? And nice job with the wing panels! I foresee much stability in this rocket.

Actually Munbug XI is the last version of a ship that Mulbin has been perfecting since 0.17 or so (at least as long as I've been playing). Sgt Flyer has his own Saturn replicas, as do a lot of other people, and we all steal the good ideas from each other and improve as the game gets updated. I expect that with the new 3.75m parts, Mulbin is already hard at work on Munbug XII!!

Rune. To each its own.

Hi Comrade Jenkins,

This project has definite promise, I will keep and eye on this.

A few things I noticed from the pics, I see you used the wing parts to widen the lower stages. This gives the rocket a hexagon type shape.

I think this doesn't look as nice a smooth looking stage. Also the interstage panel fairing needs work to remove those unsightly gaps.

This is clearly early stage in development so keep up the good work and you will have a very pretty rocket.

My latest mini saturn V has a lander of my own (develloped after studying gusturbo's mini chair based LEM - and i asked him first :P) :) (link in my sig :P)

Also, interesting design comrade jenkens, how well does it fly with all these wing parts ?

Feel free to check out my interstage designs if you wish comrade (on either of my saturn V designs)
