Am I the only one who tried to do a rover with ion engines before, but failed as the ion engines were not powerful enough? As of 23.5, you should try it again!

Why would you want to ion-power your rover when the wheels are electric? Not sure how long your tires are going to last at more than 10m/s on the surface of anything.

The brown wheels (forgot the name) can handle speeds of up to 60m/s.

There was a time before rover wheels.Rovers were actually faster then(mainly because people used lv-909s instead of ion engines)I was stubborn and kept trying to use them until .22.

Good work getting one to work. personally I avoid rovers intierly and just make sub orbital hops if I need to move across the surface. I was planning on looking through the interstellar code so I could apply the Solar sail engine effect (works while under non-physical time warp) to the ion engine so I may think of using it sometime.

I tested a cool ion hover rover on Dres. Worked great and was able to go very fast. Made sure a spotlight was angled down and I stayed about 10 meters up. Great for exploring most moons actually. Next I'm scaling it up a bit to test on Duna, though an ion glider may work better there. Sorry, no pics.

I was having fun earlier with an Ion powered plane. Sadly, I have yet to come up with an attempt to SSTO with Ion power... I will continue trying, though.

With the Rapier you could probably get to orbit with that.
