[spoilers] What the heading to the second KSC?

Recommended Posts

How can I get to that KSC(not the one which is very close to "normal" KSC, the other one)?

I searched for it (including searching for external sites which could tell me the heading by giving it the two locations) but I didn't found anything but the locations of the two KSC.

Thank you for reading!

You can't say spoilers in your title WITH the actual spoiler lol.

At least, everyone will see what is the spoiler so they can choose to see it or not

Here, this may answer it for you.

The west end of the blue orbit line is where KSC2 is. Heading is on the navball.

Sorry, but I can't see what is the heading(I tried to zoom in), is there another picture(or can you tell it to me)?

Thank you everyone for the fast answers!

I was really desperate when I made this tread(if you want to have an idea on the difficulty(I don't understand why would you want to do that), try to find it; of course, you can't use this tread because it wasn't in this forums before I made it.

An exact heading on a spherical body is not always working.

Over short distances it works just fine as the surface can be considered to be flat instead of curved. But over large distances to a target far beyond the horizon the direct path isn't a straight line but rather a curve in multiple dimensions. Your exact heading will change over time.

You can test this yourself with a desktop globe and a piece of string. With the string plot a course from the USA west coast to western Europe. They're at similar latitudes so you might expect a plane to fly due east but as your string will show the shortest route goes over the north pole. A plane will leave the USA west coast heading north east but reach Europe heading south east.

Yes, head about 290 to get there. Tex is also right about great circle routes, but it's confusing till you have to deal with it. That's why I thought it was easier to just hand over a picture.
