Im looking to spice up KSP, can you suggest some mods?

Recommended Posts

Ok so here's my current list. I have B9 aerospace to bulk up the mart count, Enviromental Enhancements for some visuals bonuses, KAS so I can try new and interesting things with my Kerbals in space and on planets. I also use fuel balancer to keep me from having to constantly rebalance fuel in my planes.

I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for either unfortunately. I guess visual boosts are always cool but I would be more interested in things that add to the gameplay. I recently tried interstellar and hated it, it seemed to break the balance and also made little sense without spending a long time reading up on what parts do what. I'm also open to ideas that impose certain levels of restrictions such as life support but I can't seem to find any with a habitat module for creating Munar Bases etc. I've considered remote tech but I feel it might make the game too hard for me as my knowledge of orbital mechanics and satellite positioning is reasonably slim.

So if anyone can suggest some interesting add ons to pile on before I start my next space program would be really appreciated!

I have just installed the raster prop monitors:

For me, this added a whole lot of new challenges to the game. And i like the new Visual Enhancement Plugin, which adds nice volumetric clouds to all planets and moons with atmosphere.

Both mods work fine with V 0.23.5

Eve is worth a look... but don´t go there without ScanSat installed. You need at least a basic map scan to figure out a landing site, because the cloud layer is dense like hell and reaches nearly down to sea level... this makes landing on Eve an even more challenging task.

RemoteTech is deceptively easy. Basically as long as your satellites are in range of each other, and have Line of Sight (Meaning they can see each other when you draw a line from one to the other) They will work. it adds a nice gameplay element. If you want to beef up the difficulty you could try Deadly Reentry, or FAR (which overhauls the aerodynamics)

Agreed. Line of site is important but unless you have OCD tendencies and are good at orbital mechanics, you don't have to put your comm network in precise orbits. Just put up more! And if you can't get your first Comsat in orbit, you can always have a Kerbal put a few up.

IMHO, Deadly Reentry isn't that hard either, you just need to pay attention to how you re enter. And accept that for the most part only things with heatshields will survive.
