What level of terrain scatter is "canon"

Recommended Posts

I was wondering what level of terrain scatter is the actual "canon" level?

for example is duna a red sandy desert with a few sparse rocks? or is it a rocky wasteland of stone and some red soil?

WHAT IS THE TRUTH?

and what scatter level do you play with?

The truth is the rocks and trees are all lies.

All of them.

You can pass straight through them with any vehicle and quite a few of them exist several metres above the surface of their respective planet or moon.

A caveat about scatter density.....

Just be careful using it on Pol (aka Place Of Lag). A scatter setting that looks cool and causes no trouble at all anywhere else in the universe will suddenly bring your computer to its knees as soon as the scatter comes into view when landing on Pol. On my machine at least, Pol is only playable if I reduced scatter down to about 25% of what I normally use.

Note, however, that I haven't been to Pol yet in 0.23.5 to see if the performance improvements have changed this. So it could be this warning is no longer valid. YMMV.
