pls dont has teh nitmars. Is only drawng.

You may wonder where this idea came from. This is actually a recurring joke with one of my friends after I drew a Mk1 command capsule that looked vaguely like an ice cream cone.

...

you would have had to have been there.

So, what would a Kerbal look like after a space adventure... strapped inside of an ice cream cone?! Maybe a bit like this. yeah, you really had to have been there.

Next picture is up. It's not great. I promise I'll try to better follow your suggestions next time! (Sorry.)

Duna One Debris

Year 3, Day 274

The Duna One spacecraft successfully touched down on a flat Dunar plain in my .23.0 career save file. Jebadiah hopped out just long enough to stretch his legs, do Science and plant a flag. The mission ended up returning to Kerbin, though only after a harrowing descent that sheared off all but three of the spacecraft's parachutes. After Jeb's safe touchdown, he was promptly recovered and taken back to the space center, where he likely consumed a relatively large quantity of alcoholic beverage.

He did not, however, attempt to get into any oversized ice cream cones.

Thank goodness.

I love these posts of yours upsilon. The artwork is truly amazing.

Aw, shucks. :D

Also, if the spacecraft returned, then what is the debris of?

I consider flags debris, though apparently that's only me. I enjoy planting them on places that I haven't been before, but they're not spacecraft and they don't really deserve a category of their own, IMHO. I place them under the 'Debris' category as they are stationary and contain no probe cores. So, the flag is the 'debris' in that picture.

Sorry if I offend.

Anyway, new debris picture is up! I don't understand its pixilation... but I actually think it's a reasonable drawing for once. The scanner broke the image into two parts, so I had to reattach them together in a slightly different way with MS Paint, so I hope that doesn't show too much. (Oh, and this drawing was completed with three different pens and seven colored pencils. So yes, I'm finally trying something new.)

MetSat 2

Year 2, Day 145 (0.23.0)

The MetSat was a craft launched to study Kerbin's (nonexistent) weather. The orbital transfer stage lifted the small craft into orbit and then fired Seperatrons to attempt to reenter Kerbin's atmosphere. Sadly, I overestimated their power, and the transfer stage ended up in an eccentric orbit with a periapsis of 73 km. So, it would have still been orbiting up there had I not deleted it.

Actually, looking back on this drawing, I got a lot of things wrong. But hey, mixed media is fun.

Newest artwork is up! For this one, I tried to shade a bit more by depicting the probe at sunset. I hope you like this look, as it's a tiny bit different from some of the previous artworks.

Minmus Ho! Debris

Year 1, Day 3

This probe had made it successfully to Minmus before I realized that the transfer stage had solar panels and the lander did not.

Needless to say, facepalming occurred.

More than once.

sigh

[EDIT: Everything here seems to look good, except for the sun, which is abysmal, I know. I'll work on it. :P]

I love these! They're so good. I have to say, there's something about the black and white ones that just... Looks right.

Admittedly, when first glancing at these, I thought they were alright. But then once you actually look at them, not glance, you really see the detail and effort put in :D

I lev it.

Are you opposed to other people's drawings of their debris ? I'm digging this format, and the photos remind me of my style of pencil and pen drawings. . Though I have debris counter set low to avoide lag around ksc, I would enjoy sketching some scenes I particularly remember.

No, that's fine! I would love to see your drawings of debris.

I can't claim to "own" the concept of debris drawing, because it's such a broad one. Even if I did, somehow, "own" the concept of drawing debris in pen or pencil, I still wouldn't have any objections to anyone else using the style.

You can say "Inspired by UpsilonAerospace's Debris Series" if it helps your moral conscience, but even that's not really needed. :)

That's funny that you bring this up. I actually draw most of my scenes from memory, especially the ones from before 0.23.5. This leads to some slightly-embarrassing results, sometimes. The last drawing on the first page, I realized, has an antenna configuration that doesn't exist in KSP. *sigh*

New drawing coming tomorrow, hopefully.

In that case...

This was an SSTO that tried landing near the north pole looking for the UFO. The coast was closer then I thought so it crashed.

The pilot walked the last 1500 meters.

Not bad, not bad. Although, if you are creating your own series, I would recommend doing so by starting your own thread. You'll get more recognition that way, and we can keep our drawings separate.

New drawing coming tomorrow at the latest, maybe today. I just need to find a good piece of debris and to have enough time for this.

I can't view the image at school so I'll look at it tonight!

Just be aware: Not my drawing. Pretty good, but not mine.

ARRRGH! I simply can't find time to do another Debris Series drawing!

I'll do one Soon, okay? :)

I'm back. Did you miss me? :)

Duna Deliverer

Year 2, Day 97

The Duna Deliverer spacecraft was intended to deliver a small science probe to Duna's surface. The probe managed to make orbit after dropping a stage in a high suborbital trajectory. However, there wasn't enough fuel in the craft to make it to the Red Planet, and it ended up tracing an elliptical Kerbol orbit.

I tried to do this one with a pen that I found... it's not bad but (as always) there are some things that are a little off. Still, though, it's good to bring this thread back to life again.

Nice very nice!

I hope this doesn't offend you and I'm sure your skills can be put to many other uses but, you could really have a job as a comic book illustrator? Looking at that last picture its pretty much perfect .

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
