The middle

Recommended Posts

Hey there. First post, and it's a noob question.

Don't know how to explain my issue exactly. I have trouble aligning parts. I'll start off fine, connect a few things, but then something will be moved off the center, like a piece that has to be attached to the center. I can move the object around, up and down and to the sides, but not right back to where the other piece is. Sometimes it gets close and shows it can attach off to the side at some odd angle that won't be good. This is probably something easy or obvious, but I'm just not seeing it.

Hello Capt' Starboard, welcome to KSP Forum- are you using symmetry? To change symmetry's, simply press and hold ctrl or shift and X to change the symmetry up or down respectively; not that? Go down to the bottom left corner of the VAB or SPH and press the one with a classic weight on it (the left one normally) to see what is making it like that. If its neither of those, show us some pictures, we'll gladly help

I'm sorry, but I'm not following what you're describing. Some pictures might help.

One bit of advice, though: try moving the camera view around until you are looking at the target attachment point from the side, 90 degrees from the plane of the target surface. That often helps.

Hit "X" to increment symmetry (1,2,3,4,6,8) and "SHIFT-X" to decrement. C toggles angle snap, which might be what you're describing.

Other than that, feel free to ask other questions, and welcome to the forum!
