if you get rid of the middle legs you can have a longer stride and a tighter turning radius

Just shy of 100 mph then. (45 m/s = 100.66 mph)

This is what I do in the demo. Not exactly stock legs, but it can push 100 m/s on land. There is the small problem of kerbals being used as headlights, but they hold on pretty tight. Usually.
