Help with Installation?

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm relatively new to Kerbal Space Program as this is my first post. I'm relatively familiar with stock parts and I have decided that I want to install four mods: B9 Aerospace, Skillful, Intersteller and Kethane mods. I have successfully installed the mods so that they appear in the load menu and they load for in the VAB and the hanger. However, when ever I try to launch a design, the game crashes. Any advice for me? I'm right now on a steam version of the game.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not sure if it is due to PC specs (those will be below) but I will try this and thanks for the help.

PC Specs:

GTX 460 1GB

8GB ram

4x core operating at 3.5 GHz (AMD 970 I think, not sure off the top of my head)

Edit: installed the suggested mod and getting a black screen at launch.

That should be enough. KSP can only use 4 GB though so the the amount of RAM you have isn't a problem. The black screen is normal I believe, just wait it out. Walk away from the computer and when you come back it should be loaded. :)

SNIP

THIS IS NORMAL! The first time you run KSP after installing said mod it will result in a long load time, but after that it will be much faster.

Ah, thank you so much for that response. The black screen just freaked me out because there was a past time when I installed a game mod (not ksp) where it caused a black screen which led to a virus and I had to get my hard drive completely cleaned. That was a bad time.

Yeah, this won't do this. The KSP modding community is very responsible and they have to provide source code.

If the moderators ever find a virus in a mod here they'd be quick to take it down. :)
