My Year 6 Class will be learning with Kerbal...

Remeber, FAR and DRE.

Depending on the course structure, it might be useful to only introduce DRE later. Get them to understand how a rocket works first, return their little Kerbals to home, so they have a sense of accomplishment, then add to the challenge. Add too much and you end-up with irreducible complexity, and that's never ever good for teaching, be it 12-year-olds, 21-year-olds, or 40-year-olds.

I've taught Calculus to gifted and talented students and that thing scares me.

I have barely any mathematical background at all, and that thing doesn't intimidate me in the least. It probably helps that I tend to be a procedural thinker, and thus the formulas and numbers do nothing to me as they stand. Once I plug them in and see them in action, that's when they can take a shot at intimidating me. If I let them, of course; I prefer to learn from them instead.

Hm. Might want to install an extra texture pack to entice the girls of class. Hello Kitty themed. Or Bieber, if they're that old. The threshold is rather blurry.
