Should there be a points archive?

In other words, on your profile, people can see how many posts you have sent, who your friends are, what you have posted where, ect. But how about something else: points you can collect from all over the forums.

For example, on challenges, you can get points from them now and you are put on the leader board of the challenge. But, instead, you can give points to people and you are put on the hypothetical 'Forum Leaderboard'. There could also be a 'point bank', so that if you post a challenge, you can give a certain amount of points, with everyone starting off on ~1000 or so.

Also, if there is a 'thumbs up/down' button, for every thumbs up you gain a point and every thumbs down you lose one.

I know this is almost pointless (no pun intended, but there is one), but this could evolve into... I have no idea.
