Classic stuff!

I like a lot!

But, for the true experience, I would have to go with this:

(Okay, even though this came a 100 or so years after Jules Verne)

OOH! Oh! pick me! *waves arm like little kid in a class room*

You should put one of the kerbals on top of a stack of cargo looking out the window for docking visibility, and semi-improved seating reasons

Sounds pretty reasonable!

I'm working on a generic IVA seat prop, so can replace all the seats that are currently stolen from Squad's IVAs.

Just a 1.25m Cygnus. :)

Put the config in "Tantares" folder and it will do the job for ya. :)

https://www.dropbox.com/s/g4kthecxg33sg6h/Tantares_Extra_Big_Cygnus.cfg?dl=0

Hella cool!

Thanks for making this, I will have a play around when I have a chance.

This would be nice to see. Would it be possible to make a tweak which adds a larger, three seat Soyuz? The IVA for the TKS VA capsule could be used for the DM.

Never thought of using the TKS IVA for a rescaled Soyuz...

Hmmm, yeah it is a pretty good idea, maybe the window placement will be weird, but no big deal.

Vostok can be an ideal satellite bus for early RT commsats, like my Foton:

http://i.imgur.com/Gv2DiBF.jpg

8 of them are on 150km equatorial orbit, and are used to control orbital test launches.

Another 6 of them are on 1000km orbit, and are used as a bridge from LKO to KSO.

(Terrible overdesign and probably a waste of money, but I don't like the very idea of sending manned flights to deploy a commsat.)

Ooh!

I really like this, wants to make me install Remote Tech again! :)

Nice IVA Beale. *Thumbs up*:)

Man, getting the feeling you really don't want to do that venera!

I'm fine either way, new ATV IVA is cool by me

Really enjoying the Fuji, will get mission pics soon of my inane abuse of your modpack!

Ah, no for sure I only make things that I want to make, the Venera is sadly like the youngest brother trying to compete with older brothers for attention :cool:

New IVA: Need to make seats.

Snow White has also put together some very nice parts for the Vostok upper stage, so see them soon also :)

Dude, I Love your ATV. It has made my Resupply Missions to my Eeloo Station SO much Easier! http://i.imgur.com/lrxpfPh.jpg

I will second dimovski - manned station around Eeloo!?

Still, looks great! I am not always to fond of Greeble, but it works in this case :)

Eeloo?! Good Lord... how often are the crews changed? Once in 6 years? ^^

Almaz-K Boilerplate 2 launch... this time with heavy radar equipment and additional 4 tons of propellant, bringing overall mass to a whopping 27 tons:

Cool!

I am really starting to like these N-1 variants...

Nice!

I have not seen the FOBOS used so much, I really like these little missions :)

It's a nice loafy design.

Finally able to show the first mission to Kalmaz 1

Launch of TKS spacecraft on a Proton

The rendezvous window was at night, so I didnt get very many good images of the ascent.:P

This is one of the better ones, after first stage separation and escape tower jettison

http://i.imgur.com/luu2HJU.png

Orbit achieved, the third stage was mostly useless, I probably could have put this ship in orbit using only the first and second stages.

http://i.imgur.com/YhIGLsM.png

Rendezvous took about three or four hours to complete, which in my opinion is quite good, especially considering the altitude and inclination of the orbit.

Approaching Kalmaz 1

http://i.imgur.com/xZL6cJh.png

The clearance between the solar arrays worried me at first. I forgot to test to make sure that the FGB could dock at the aft port

http://i.imgur.com/r90YJ0K.png

Clearance is a little tight, but it fits.

Beginning reconnaissance operations. Kalmaz 1 has several other cameras onboard, I just took the screenshot from this camera because the filter looks cool.:D

http://i.imgur.com/Mymo1x0.png

Kalmaz sees all, knows all, feels all.

Nice!

Really like them filters!

Also the offset shenzou for the docking node is really clever :)

Hey Beale, do you think that you could make some Tantares and Tantares LV style Procedural Parts textures? that would be a really useful thing to have. Also, how are things going with your Energia?
I second the request for procedural part textures! Procedural fairings a la Beale and procedural fuel tanks a la Beale would be AWESOME!
Third! :) (Tantares fairings would make my life!!)

Congrats for 500 posts!! :):):):):)

Hmm, I made some a while ago (Maybe 10-15 pages back) for...? I cannot remember. They where TLV style procedural tank textures.

Never made fairings, could give it a shot.

New ALV will be white though, so should fit better with standard PF.

Thanks! I wish I actually could've bothered looking at my post count, so I could post this on my 500th one:

Nice design for the capsule!

Is this full size RSS or 1/10?

Alright, I found the one texture(here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/81537-0-90-Tantares-Stockalike-Soyuz-and-MIR-13-2-Crew-1-25m-Pod-Fuji-Release%21?p=1562273&viewfull=1#post1562273), but a dedicated pack with tavio, ALV, ATV, and "beale grey" textures would be a good thing to have

Loving this pack and would like to add my support of a Beale texture pack for procedural fairings/parts :)

Maybe also a combined fairing base/decoupler to attach the payload instead of using stock decouplers and the PF fairing bases (would look neater at least).

Do have one odd issue though, made a station consisting mostly of the main Salyut/Vega parts with the 6 way node at the top (with Tantares docking ports on all sides except the connection to the Vega parts). Anything I docked to the ports resulted in a steadily worsening wobble and uncontrolled acceleration (with SAS, RCS and engines all disabled/shutdown). Undocking whatever was docked caused it to shoot away at high speed (but otherwise still intact) while the station would then suffer rapid unplanned dis assembly.

Replacing the Tantares pack 6 way node with the stock Rockomax thing and standard clamp-o-trons has so far been working perfectly fine and docking things such as a Tantares to an Alnair with the Tantares ports seems fine.

Sadly the log shows absolutely nothing of relevance that could explain whats happening so I'm a bit of a loss on what (if anything) could be done to fix it.

Mostly just reporting so its known and to see if anyone else has experienced similar issues.

Pic of the modified station to give an idea of the parts I'm using:

Maybe also a combined fairing base/decoupler to attach the payload instead of using stock decouplers and the PF fairing bases (would look neater at least).

Go to the procedural fairings directory (on my computer C:\Games\Kerbal Space Program\GameData\ProceduralFairings)

and add the following lines to base and baseRing .cfgs:

MODULE

{

name = ModuleDecouple

ejectionForce = 250

explosiveNodeID = top

}

MODULE

{

name = ModuleDecouple

ejectionForce = 250

explosiveNodeID = bottom

}

Now you can set the decoupling by action groups (the upper one is loaded 1st, which means that the decoupler for the top node will be shown as the upper one in the action groups menu).

If you use the interstage for fairings (for example, when you wish to integrate a LES without gigantic heavy fairings), you can add these lines:

MODULE

{

name = ModuleDecouple

ejectionForce = 250

explosiveNodeID = top1

}

MODULE

{

name = ModuleDecouple

ejectionForce = 250

explosiveNodeID = bottom

}

to your adapter2.cfg.

Also the offset shenzou for the docking node is really clever :)

I use the Shenzou OM for a lot of stuff. It forms the airlock on Kvant 2 on my Mir station, as well as the Shuttle docking module. If I ever try to construct an ISS replica, the Shenzou will probably be what I use for Pirs or Poisk.

Maybe I will post pictures of the crew departing from Kalmaz when their expedition is finished.

You could also use it for the little brother of Kalmaz, Koyuz-R

http://www.astronautix.com/craft/soyuzr.htm

Or as the orbital compartment of the Koyuz-A

http://www.astronautix.com/graphics/s/soyuza.jpg

Yes, another use for the remarkably versatile Shenzou OM. I read about these in the Soyuz Owners Workshop Manual, which I got for Christmas.

Ah, North Korea... Just, why? They should be smart enough to know that if the satellite failed to orbit, everyone would know it!

Their citizens only know what they are told. Once that rocket is out of eye sight it doesn't matter at all.

About Soviet probes, the interplanetary ones were built using 3 basic designes, which offered some modularity, letter M in the design stands for Mars, V for Venus:

1M: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mars_1M

2MV: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mars_2MV-4_No.1

3MV: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3MV

4NM, 5NM, 5M: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mars_program#Mars_4NM_and_5NM

4V: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venera_4

I guess having such a modular design might be good, a "propulsion block", a cylindrical long "instrumentation block" with control capabilities, some monoprop and a detachable probe core with a built-in chute for landing stuff. Probably, have different "landers" with different experiments, for instance a blue sphere for barometer, red for thermometer, green cylindric thingy (like those early Mars and Venera landers) for accelerometer and yellow cylindric for gravioli detector or atmosphere scan. Since we already have the decoupler+parachute couple, it will make 3 parts (body, solar panels and engine) + different landers.

I registered just to say that this is one of the most well-crafted KSP parts packs that I've come across. It's clear that the developer(s) have invested thought and care into each part. Thank you Beale & co.

I was not talking about the average citizen in North Korea, but rather the propaganda agents and scientists who announced the "successful flight of the satellite. But that's getting a little off topic.

Wait - the N1 parts are out?

I don't see them in the most recent download, what am I missing?!

No, Beale didn't made N1, at least yet.

And I doubt he will do that in near future, since there are already many N1 replicas (both life-like and stock KSP-like).

If you want an N1 that goes well with Tantares, try K1 from NovaPunch.

I'll have a look - is NovaPunch what the folks who posted "N-III" pics in this thread are using?
