Soyuz and Apollo?

Recommended Posts

I need a little help on the Soyuz, because,

1: The engines aren't realistic (there are multiple engines)

2. The orbital module, the descent module and the service module don't look right, and are missing many instruments

3. The spacecraft isn't really to scale

I need a little help on the Apollo, because,

1. The engines aren't realistic (there are 5 engines on the 1st & 2nd stage)

2. The lander is really unrealistic

3. The spacecraft is hard to fly

I decided to put the separation of the Soyuz "boosters" because in my opinion they looked cool

If anyone wants the .craft files I can post them, and if anyone wants to help me with the design, I can post the .craft files too.

I would not like to use mods on this.

The engines on the Soyuz are actually just one engine each -- so that's a total of 4 on the boosters and 1 on the core stage. :)

These are some complex spacecraft to make in KSP so it might be better to make approximations. Good luck!

for the soyuz rocket, remember the existence of the rapiers engines, with locked gimbals and in rocket mode - you can also add the 24-77s as verniers for the first stages, and the smaller LV1-R's for the upper stage verniers :)

the rapiers make for nice looking 4 nozzles engines in 1.25m :P

I was having trouble using them, because, they couldn't lift the Soyuz up for me... they are kinda inefficient :o

You can try with clipping a second one in each of the lower engines - pretty easy to do, as they have a node underneath :P twice the thrust in the same size :P most reproductions of real life rockets usually need some clipping at a time or another :P

You should check the okb-1 thread - there's numerous russian replicas you can take appart to study of you wish. :P

http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/34125-Rocket-Builders-OKB-1-Russian-Rocket-Design-Firm-and-Repository/page70

Although your lower boosters are maybe slightly too tall / heavy

Else, for apollo replicas, feel free to take appart my designs if you wish ;) (in my sig) - that's how i started to learn :) studying how some nice rockets where built, and creating my own building techniques afterwards :)

But for most replicas, a fair amount of part clipping is usually required :) (whether or not you make use the debug menu)

Thx For the help, but my Soyuz overheated... my Soyuz is sometimes unreliable :o
