Munar Asteroid Intercept Question

I have an asteroid on course for a Munar impact, and I am going to try to at least deflect it.

As can be seen from the image, the trajectory of the asteroid is set to where the Mun will be which makes pre-setting an orbit tricky. Is there any way to jink conics so I can pre-set the orbit like I can do with Kerbin intercepts? Or do I just have to wait until the asteroid is in-system (or go out and get it while it's still in a solar orbit)?

You have to edit something that raises the limit of SOI transitions of the orbit plot, I didn't remember exactly what, so you can see the resultant orbit after munar encounter, and if it's effectively on a collision course.

Thanks, cantab! Changed it from 3 to 5 and saw where the tater would zoom under Mun and impact Kerbin. Flew on out to solar rendezvous and got it safely corralled.
