Me-262 A-1a Schwalbe (And Me-262 A1a/U4... 50mm autocannon)

Recommended Posts

The Messerschmitt Me 262 Schwalbe ("Swallow") of nasi Germany was the world's first operational jet-powered fighter aircraft. Design work started before World War II began, but engine problems and top-level interference kept the aircraft from operational status with the Luftwaffe until mid-1944. Compared with Allied fighters of its day, including the British jet-powered Gloster Meteor, it was much faster and better armed. One of the most advanced aviation designs in operational use during World War II, the Me 262 was used in a variety of roles, including light bomber, reconnaissance, and even experimental night fighter versions.

It pretty much flies smoothly and only has about 80 parts. The only downside to this is that the fuel consumption is fast and it has a weird fuel flow issue where it one engine runs out of fuel before the other. (I will try to smooth out these problems later)

This airplane design was based off of Redshift OTF's Me-262 design. Thread can be found here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/81608-Me-262-Replica

It flies a bit heavier than the Me-262 A1a.

Very nice! It looks good with the smaller rockets and lower wing but you can see why I raised the wing, the fuselage looks a bit spikey in the middle. Nice job.

BTW, you could probably replace the rear nose cone I used for the lower part of the tail with a jet engine if you wanted it to fly like a jet. It would just clip in without spoiling the looks I think.

OP not to be mean but as far as I can tell the fuel lines serve no purpose

There are some fuel tanks clipped inside the fuselage and it needs fuel lines to transport it to the wings --> to the engines.
