help my game keeps freezing

so to start off I have a heavily modded version of KSP 23.5 on my mac currently and the problem isn't with loading, once the game has been running for a few minutes (generally when I am trying to build a new craft) the game just decides to freeze, however the background music keeps playing. here is a list of everything in my gamedata folder

please help me I don't want to remove my mods, but I want to be able to play kerbal. as far as I know all mods are current or at least ARM compatible

Edit: I just removed Kethane and the NASA pack, and severely reduced settings. now the game no longer freezes in the VAB or Hangar, however it freezes while loading the VAB after attempting a launch

Well, unless if you want to install the 64 bit KSP hotfix. You will have to remove some mods as for you are above the 4 Gig RAM limit

what hotfix? is it mac compatible?

What does the output_log.txt (inside KSP_Data) tells you after it freeze? It could be something else than the memory (as it would usualy crash and not freeze).

thanks for the tip, but I am already using active texture management

also just checked the log and it doesn't say it crashed, the game just froze and I had to force quit

I experience this too with a Mac Pro (OSX 10.7) and 6gb of RAM. KSP doesn't do this on my MacBook Pro which has only 4gb of RAM. What the hell?

yah I am running 10.9.3 on 8gb I don't think it is directly related to either

The "freeze with music still playing" happens to me whenever I attempt re-entry with aerodynamic settings above minimal. As soon as the re-entry effects begin, I have to force quit and restart. It happens in stock, too.

I'm also on a Macbook Pro, OSX 10.7.5 with 4gb.

I got the game working (deleted the NASA pack as well as kethane) but now when I try to go back into the spaceplane hanger after attempting a launch the game freezes on the loading screen. I also lowered some of the settings for the game.
