Land Rover V8 short-wheelbase open-top and Hardtop

Recommended Posts

*EDIT*: I have added the hardtop version too.

Thanks!

MJ

Hi all!

Ive been looking at all the awesome cars floating around on the forums and have been inspired to make my own for driving challenges and such.

So I made one of my favorite 4x4s The land Rover V8, short-wheelbase

I made a detailed little interior for the car with steering wheel and boss, wing mirrors, gear stick and two little seats.

There are even brake lights when you use the button!

Now with authentic "candles in jam-jars" headlights.

There is even a little electric V8 under the bonnet.

Oh, and a spare wheel. :D

I discovered that a popped tire will not repair due to the weight of the car. You need to position a freindy Kerbal under the car to take some of the weight! :D

The Land Rover has a top speed on the flat of around 45 MPH.

Take care on hills, control your speed, usual rover rules apply.

You will of course want to put kerbals inside so I attached a two Kerbal pod for easy crew transfer.

It does look amazing, and...

"electric V8"??? x-)

You know what? I think KSP should be more that just a space simulator.

LOL yeah! I made the engine out of batteries and an RTG. And it looks like a V8 so its an electric V8.

The Kerbals are a very progressive species. :D

Hi all,

I have updated the Land Rover a little. I added break lights when you use them and I changed the properties of the headlights to more realistically reflect the

"Candles in jam-jars" lights that where on the old land Rovers.

Oh,

And I added a two man pod to the car so its easy to load two crew.

Pics in the first post.

Thanks!

MJ

So are you in? :)

I'm just a little concerned that I wont have time to commit to it.. I play KSP quite sporadically.

Send me a PM with what needs to be done, what would be required that kind of thing. Thanks again Vagani.

The second one is based off of a MAN TGX and does not have a tow unlike the other one

I like those a lot. Nice trucks!

They're based off of european trucks of course.

You could try making your own trucks.

Infact, there is a dead challenge thread which was supposed to have you racing around in trucks ( http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/75326-KRF-Truck-Racing-League )

the OP never came back, but the trucks are still there! Though most of them are american. (i only remember 1 other truck design that wasn't mine and was european, seemed like the newer volvo)
