Mod Idea (Cross Gaming)

Space Engineers is also 'moddable' and I wonder if using some webservice calls if we could have Kerbal Space Program items that are crafted in Space Engineers.

So for example if I set up my refinery in Space Engineers and assemble a thurster maybe that would be a thruster in Kerbal when I switch over.

I thought about doing basically this but using pen and paper. (aka a group of players that plays by these cross gaming rules).

I think this should have been posted in the addon support and requests, as this sound more of a request then a addon development.

And that would not work, as KSP and Space Engineers are two different games and are made by two different companies. The legal stuff that would go down would be very bad for both Squad and the SE creators.

Plus, there is no way to link the games even if the legal stuff was greenlighted. You can't craft a KSP part in SE then have a plugin transfer it into KSP.

Now, if you want a Refinery in KSP that makes components and you use those components to make the parts like engines, command pod, and everything else, that would be kool. In fact, would add more realism to the game. Go out and mine metals to make components to make parts.

Ah, so instead of Extraplanetary Launchpads where the whole ship is magically created once you have enough resources to build it, you use KAS to connect all the individual parts. That's cool to do a few times, then it gets tedious.
