Gryphorim
fantastic work, inspirational! Can't wait to try it out. Actually glad you are looking to weld a stock docking port, personally prefer the stock feel.

sashan
The shape of openings for legs must match the pattern of heat tiles. Also, they won't land on heatshield tiles - that destroys the whole "fast reusability" concept. The tiles would swing outwards like gear doors on planes, exposing landing leg dish.Nice windows btw. Make a ton of difference. Maybe add black frame around them, like on the Shuttle? Also, would you add RCS ports? Real capsules have no reaction wheels, you know. I could easily add the black frame to the windows. So it must match the pattern of heat tiles, so what would the pattern maybe look like then? The tiles swing open like this?EDIT: Just tried it with the black frames, I kind of prefer no frames better. Ooh! You're sure this won't be done by the end of this week?I honestly don't know, but I want to take my time on this. I tend to do better when I have no deadline.EDIT 2: Maybe on the RCS ports. Airlock
I think you're on the right track with the heatshield and legs, tygoo. This is what the real crew Dragon's legs look like if you need a reference: As you can see, they retract directly into the heatshield. Also, the Dragon does not use tiles for reentry, but an ablative material like all other capsules have. In SpaceX's case, they use something called PICA-X. For Dragon 2, the landing legs will need to be re-coated with the material after every flight, as PICA-X does not hold up well under weight. tygoo7
Okay so animations are done. I am currently porting it into Unity. Now to figure out how PartTools works.
Airlock
Not a fan of the new heat shield texture. Definitely needs some lines and divots for definition. Would you consider changing it?My previous post was mistaken, in that I stated Dragon doesn't use tiles for reentry. Instead, I should have said that Dragon does not use passive thermal protection tiles like the Space Shuttle, but rather, ablative plates, that burn away during heating. See: new and crispy. The reveal Dragon 2's heatshield in the image I posted is probably just a mockup/placeholder as well. Apologies if I caused any confusion! Also, if you don't want to copy SpaceX's design too closely, you can search for "PICA heat shield," "PICA-X ablative shield," etc. NASA's MSL/Curiosity used a PICA heat shield, for example. Apollo and Orion use AVCOAT material. I hope I don't come off as nagging. Just adding my 2 cents

So...much....bugs! http://i.imgur.com/g12zH0h.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/R91bBRN.pngLooks awesome! Is there a specular map on it? It could look even more pretty with a bit of shine and reflective property. You can make a quick and dirty spec. map by pasting a greyscale version of the texture into the alpha-channel of the main texture.Although to be fair, the real V2 doesn't look to be mega-shiny. It does not have a specular map on it. I could add one since it would look cool. Still working out the Unity stuff. Do you have an idea why my animations are somehow linked together in Unity? Like the armature is being affected by eachother somehow.Looks great! How about an option for displaying a flag on it?I might add a flag on it once I figure out all the unity stuff. If I understand:Docking port affected by landing leg animation?Landing leg affected by docking port animation? If this is the case - it might be a problem with the key-frames interfacing with each other (So the docking port is "reset" somewhere in leg animation, sorry for the English, I'm not sure).I've seen some similar problems on the modelling sub-forum, but haven't looked in detail.Sorry to be un-helpful! The docking port ends at 50 and the landing leg ends at 100, so I wonder if I change the landing leg to 50 that will fix it. EDIT: Nope, maybe if I do it so when one ends, the other one starts?EDIT: Still nope. Edited March 29, 2015 by tygoo7

EDIT: Nope, maybe if I do it so when one ends, the other one starts?EDIT: Still nope. My "extremely painful" advice:It might be the case you'll have to split the either the Docking port or heatshield into a separate part. There are certain blips with the animation modules that KSP doesn't seem to like when you have multiple animations, which is really annoying.Splitting the shield into a separate part may bring some further benefits, such as mounting the capsule on any 2.5m stack, and a nice 2.5m landing support that you can use for other craft. You probably will know, but the Russian PPTS uses a near identical landing system to the V2 (Well, I don't think quite as sophisticated), so I would run into similar problems soon (two animations on PPTS, window lights and landing legs) Edited March 29, 2015 by Beale
