Can also confirm it's working practically perfectly. And it's BEATIFULL!

Ground textures and all looking fine. I'm still having voilumetric clouds which cover the whole scene(only while on the ground) but this was after I pressed "Apply" in the Alt+E menu. Before this I only had a couple of the old globular ones. Not sure how to turn it off but not too big of an issue.

Hyper-edited right into the sunrise. It's just... Amazing... Sorry for the missing service module. *cough*HyperEdit*cough*

Passing over the Amazon River basin. Yes, this was a perfectly equatorial orbit. Again the mirroring is easily overlooked.

Citylights looking good.

Running at 3GB memory with 4k textures(ALL of them for RSS). No ATM and no textures reduced in RVE with almost all of BobCat's mods, KOSMOS and some stock parts. I'm not in d3d11 or opengl mode either and have perfect performance.

Brilliant brilliant news, so glad I could get it working for you guys!

DDS loader/textures are working absolute wanders for RVE, where before I had crashes with just 4k on x64! Thank you sarban

BTW if you don't wan't the dodgy volumetric clouds for the time being you can just open the EVE - in game gui and un-tick the little tick box at the top of the volumetric section (in the Low - clouds section). It should remove the volumtric box section and remove clouds, you'll need to hit apply and save after.

EDIT: In fact, I'll just remove from the gitHub config, so all you need to do is get that updated cloud config :)

This is really looking great. Just a couple of observations from my end.

1) For some reason this does not like Kerbin when using DX11. OpenGL works fine but DX11 results inv3R0J92.png

Note the only Kerbin is like this, all other planets and moons are correct (log file is here https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/34786356/RSS/output_log_RVE.zip)

2) In the tracking center and map view the sun is bright enough to wash out the planets and that makes it difficult to navigate through the solar system. I do realize that the sun as viewed from a vessel should be brighter that what it currently is, I am just rather hoping that there is a way to reduce the brightness here and not when flying. (If not can you let me know where the values are in the config so I can make a personal MM file to meet my tastes)

3) When viewing the KSC at night the terrain is exceptionally dark and this might lead a person to think that something is wrong as the terrain is almost fully black. Rotating the view I was able to see the city lights next to KSC, but from the initial view it was difficult to see anything

4) The atmospheric haze around Venus is only showing up on the sunward facing hemisphere (when viewed in the tracking center). Titan was fully obscured but not Venus

m6z9TRI.jpg

Going to try to put a probe around Venus to see if the view on the nights side from orbit has the haze or not. Will update if I have any success.

Other than this I have not seen anything else that looks out of sorts.

EDIT: This is with the latest from GitHub that I downloaded this morning running on RSS 8.3.

I've run into an issue where there seems to be excessive tiling in the clouds....

This is a known bug stated in the GitHub repo :) it's hopefully gonna be worked on

EDIT: This is with the latest from GitHub that I downloaded this morning running on RSS 8.3.

1) How bizzar, maybe something to do with DDS loader, I'll mention this in the OP when this gets released properly, thanks.

2) There are indeed options for all of these individually now within the RSS configs however the brightness is increased to accommodate my new lens flare.

3) The atmosphere/land brightness is still something being worked on though I have been trying to achieve darkness for some time now, I think it may be to do with PlanetShine, do you have that installed?

4) I have mentioned this to rbray already and requested some more controllability concerning the atmosphere shader effects amongst other things - brightness being one of them.

Thanks for reporting these :)

I have already checked it out, but I want the flare that's in this pack, it's so pretty *.*

The lens flare is an optional component available on the 0.25 RVE github Repo, it's called: sharedassets10.assets, put it in your ksp_data & overwrite :)

Also just like to remind people that this is only up for testing and IS NOT A FULL WORKING RELEASE. All main DL's were removed from the OP because of the number of people posting about it not working and/or bugs and glitches in it. I really don't have the time to work on this mod properly at the moment, let alone post endless replies about install instructions for it. Please only install if you wan't to test or are, for whatever reason, desperate to try it in [acknowledging its unfinished state]. If that is the case then please read the info on the GitHub page about install info and KNOWN BUGS, and then report back anything else, although I most likely already know about them and am working on getting it fixed when I can find the time. This is also dependant on when rbray has the time to get fixes/features out.

In other words I purposely didn't wan't to place this release on the OP as even more people will assume it's an official release.

I will add any info I forgot to before to the GitHub repo now and thanks you for your patients. I appreciate felger has been posting pics of it on the RO page but may be understating just how unfinished this mod currently is.

I do not have PlanetShine installed.

Just did a quick orbital run and absolutely love these effects. The sunrise from orbit is just beautiful. My re-entry ended right at a tile border in the Atlantic for the clouds but I only really noticed it because I knew it was an issue already. The only item I have on my wish list for this would be if the cloud could have depth to them. When I re-entered, the clouds were 2 dimensional. Not a big deal, just a wish list request.

Indeed, however the volumetrics have been removed due to them not conforming to the new clouds detail, when/if this gets fixed I'll be sure to put them back in.

Also 'true' volumetric clouds are obviously something evryone would wan't in an idea world though I think it may be somewhat out of the scope for EVE at least for the time being.

Just wanted to note that Mars surface when you approach for landing, either gets Red 255 or it gets dull gray.

ok, I haven't looked at the other planets yet. 255?

This mod is absolutely stunning pingopete! Great to see that this community is a hive mind of gorgeous creativity. Keep up the great work :D

Thanks, I should be able to get much more done this Christmas break :)

I believe he means it goes all red, though I'm not sure.

Well the colour code would look like that for mars, it represents inverse values for RGB. Typically there is also a 4th number at the end though for alpha. Either way I haven't looked at the other planets yet so I really wouldn't worry about it for the time being.
