Mechjeb Help please!!

Hello, I'm rather new to this game and so far I really like it very much. I'm attempting to install a few mods, namely the Mechjeb mod. I seem to have it installed properly and I have figured out how to unlock it on the tech tree. I have installed the part on one of my ships... but when I launch the rocket .. I don't see anything on the display to activate the mechjeb unit. I can only assume that I don't have it installed correctly or that I'm not activating it properly.

A little help please....

if you have the part installed on your ship and you see no mechjeb gui the its quite likely you didn't actually install it properly

Extract it inside the gameData folder, but double check the folder structure inside gameData is the same as it is in the zip

A few clues about your set up might help... 32/64bit (tried both) Linux Mac or some other OS? 1mb ram or 64mb?

i usually extract things into a new folder devoted to the mod, then copy the unzipped contents and paste in the gamedata folder

I have no Mechjeb GUI on my display.. but I can place the mechjeb module on my ships... hmmmm. As far as I can tell, I have it installed properly but it's not working.

Are you in career mode or sandbox mode?

If you have Toolbar installed (Which you should) you need to enable the MechJeb button.

You don't need toolbar for that mod but you can there should have been a tab on the right handside of your screen that had MJ on it.

When you are building your rocket, there is a part in the control tab that you need to place on the outside out your rocket/plane. Not all the modules are unlocked when in career mode at the start. They are always unlocked in Sandbox.

Start a new game in Sandbox mode and see if the AR202 shows up in the controls tab. If it is not in that tab, you did not install the mod correctly.

Once you place the the part on your craft, a tab will show up on the right hand side of the screen and you click it and all available modules for that screen will be displayed. Click on the little square on the left of the name of the module you wish to use.

How do I make the ascentmodule appear at the start of career?

I've done this:

MechJebModuleAscentGuidance { unlockTechs = Start }

and lowercase start.

Do I need the toolbar for this?
