Alien/Calpamos planet pack alpha release.

I've gotten to a point on my planet pack for the Alien franchise where it's ready for an initial testing. It's far from complete as I would like to add more easter eggs/cloud and ground details, however I think some feedback would be a great help. This mod uses planetfactory CREATORS EDITION, the regular planetfactory will NOT WORK. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/65401-WIP-PlanetFactory-CE it can be found here. It's not technically required for this pack, but Environmental Visual Enhancements can be found here http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/55905-0-23-5-7-3-EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements-NEW!-VolumetricClouds! . Honestly the clouds add so much I wouldn't recommend using this pack without them, it just makes everything look amazing. This pack probably will clash with any other planet packs like Urania, Titan, Hercules etc... that use clouds, so I would only use it with the standard planetfactory CE. To install simply place the clouds folder in boulderco and let it overwrite, for the planets, place the Calpamos folder in the planetfactory folder alongside the Serious folder.

This looks really good, I really love thick atmosphere planets.

Sadly enough planet factory ask a lot of memory, atleast that was like 4 months ago, can someone confirm it is still the same or it uses lesser memory now? otherwise i'm really giving it a try again.

By the way you should make a list of the planets with a small description.

Are the textures LV223_add_color and LV223_add correct? They sure look kinda odd..

I see now, the easter egg picture was not opening for me before, now it is.

Yeah the texture isn't final, I just used the same heightmap I made in 3dsmax as the texture and blended it with the surroundings, I was lazy.

one question: will there be SCIENCE on these new planets?

ohh and another thing, i downloaded this pack like i did any other planet pack but the planets themselves do not show up:(

i have too much trouble with pictures, so the Calpamos folder (and everything in it) is alongside PlanetFactory.cfg inside the planet factory folder. PF folder is in plugindata folder alongside PlanetFactory.dill

I just did a clean install of the original planetfactory CE and downloaded from my dropbox and installed both clouds and the calpamos folder. It worked fine for me, however I forgot to unzip the folders initially and that caused them to not show up. Look at the files and see if they still have a zipper on them. You might also just not be clicking the load calpamos system when the game starts up. The only other thing I can think of is that you are actually using planetfactory and not planetfactory CE, does your game give you the option to automatically load savegames without going through the welcome menu?

I hope you are considering creating a planet with the derelict Alien ship from the movie Alien on it. With the structure from Prometheus and the Alien derelict ship, this system would be by far the best!!

I already added the prometheus structure to LV223, it's just not explorable. I'm in the process of learning how to use Kerbtown to add inanimate objects to planets but I'm not sure that it'll work with planetfactory CE.

On Linux, filenames and folder names are case-sensitive. I had issues because of that for both the clouds and the planets. Please make sure that the file extensions are all lower case, and that the Texture folder for the clouds and particles are correctly cased. Since Linux is the only officially supported 64-bit platform until the 0.24 release, it would be great if this could work with it out of the box.

Once I fixed those by hand, it's working great on Linux. I look forward to exploring these new worlds!

Wow! What an journey to reach LV223. Over 88 years of warp time. This system is out there!!

It looks impossible to locate the alien structure with the cloud cover, is it? Any hints?

I really did not spend any time looking yet, I needed a break from the trip to get there.

I sure hope this mod is not dead!

Sorry man ever since I learned how to make parts I've been spending a lot of time modeling and texturing. Not to mention Kragrathea hasn't been heard from since January so planetfactory might end up being a dead end.
