OMG. WE HAVE TO DO THIS. This is the best idea i've ever gotten. Imagine you were placing a ladder like it was a strut. That would be AWSOME.

Or better yet, add procedural ladders. Pick a point A and a point B, and the ladder's there. That's awsome.

Would do wonders for part count. I prefer using fixed ladders rather than retractable ones wherever possible, but the part count goes nuts adding three rungs at a time.

I'm afraid it's not as simple as it looks. All current struts work by stretching the middle part instead of correctly adding segments (you can see it very clearly on a fuel pipe where arrows are stretched).

But yes, if possible: I'd love to see that. It'd really help simplifying the designs.
