hempa2
I think KSP needs a way to terraform and now with 0.23.5 when the added asteorids then we can terraform them! Examples would be 1 time use gravity enhancer to increase your asteroids gravity or size enhancers to make it bigger and even air pumps to give it an atmosphere! However for atmospheres you need to get to an planet with an atmosphere (Kerbin) and pump it in your ship to deposit at your asteroid! But when catching Jools atmosphere bad things will happen... r4pt0r
wow you sure do like starting suggestion threads. my question on this one is this: can you show me a real life example of a "gravity enhancer"? or how an potatoriod could hold an atmosphere? ksp may be a little "unrealistic" in some aspects, but the lead dev is on record he wants this game to be more science and less sci-fi

BudgetHedgehog
And how would you increase the mass?
hempa2
By terraforming it and making it HUGE
BudgetHedgehog
Terraforming something doesn't change its size.
hempa2
Yes but making the asteorid bigger and increase it spin (everything is possible with nasa fueltanks...)

SofusRud
Given the way KSP handels gravity and atmospheres, you are basically asking for the ability to make custom celestial bodies in-game, something that otherwise requires you to decompile the game. I wouldn't hold out hope for this being implemented

I wouldn't hold out hope for this being implementedI know that there is values for atmosphere and gravity and so on, however i know it would be hard to do on asteorids, they are classified as ships (thats why the grappling unit works)- - - Updated - - -Excuse me sir, can you spare a moment for Spore?http://www.mtv.com/news/photos/g/games_spore_021408/spore_space.jpgi got the idea from spore

Tery215
it's not scientific at all to make a tiny asteroid a planetit might be fun, to some degree, but you would need to pump hard-to-gettium into the asteroid (infinitely dense) and it would be unscientific for it to be re-directible (this is the point of asteroids), also hard-to-gettium is impossible to move
sal_vager
Terraforming is far far beyond anything Squad has planned for KSP, it's maybe an idea for an expansion one day, but not today Closing this as it's gone off topic.
